I think it's really interesting how in Enies Lobby I really felt like the CP0 crew were goofy looking, but Oda worked hard to make them an imposing threat. Awakening your devil fruit after only 2 years (fastest known in the verse) when you have beings like Kaido who are still unawakened is insane to me. I wonder if it’s because of training, his love for giraffes, the fact that it is tier 3 ( carnivorous like lucci is tier 2 and mythical like Kaido is tier one) made it easier to control or master, or because he had a partner to awaken his fruit with making it easier as well, or a combination of all these things. Even if he isn’t the strongest, also mastering the 6 powers, being the strongest swordsman in cp0, and combining them with his awakened zoan and armament all while not losing his humanity.
