Zotac has the second lowest market share in consumer GPU's just above Colourful. There's fewer of them spotted everywhere from store shelves to recycling centers so repair shops (between) is expected and not a sign of quality. The majority of Zotac's customers is OEM parts so you know they are atleast decent enough to satisfy them, Dell isnt going to hire Zotac to fill all their Alienware PC's with low quality parts Dell will pay near twice for after the warranty.

I've got a Zotac 4090 amp extreme since day 1 (with a modded 600w bios because they were apparently not extreme enough to at least allow that much power in...) under water with zero problems. the pcb twists because of the temperature difference between the front and the back, as you heat more with the hot air on the front (for the gpu) the less hot rear is more retractable can perhaps raise the total surface temperature a little more to limit the work of the PCB (this must differ depending on how the layers are organized because only the copper expands, the fiberglass having almost none)

@northwestrepair i can't wait to see your analysis of those cards. I know that's a long time out but it'd still be nice to hear your initial thoughts on the "looks". And what you think can be the benefits and downsides to such a small pcb and the looks of the components on the boards. Id put more stock into what you say about the technical aspects of gpus rather than a Linus Tech Tips review of the card. Because you provide a better mechanical point of view rather than their technological pov.

@@northwestrepairalls well and good if a 5090 can get you 179,000 fps in rocket league but if the cards vrms won't last that's more important. Or if they use ridiculously cheap capacitors or memory on the card, we need to know that.
@Roman00744Сағат бұрын
The board was warped in the middle because of a support bracket installed at the end of the GPU, same thing happened to my 6800xt after 2 years with a support installed at the end of the GPU so there is support at the bracket and at the end from the GPU support but nothing in the middle so it warped from the weight in the middle, thankfully it's only 1 millimeter gap in the middle when I lay it flat so not that bad but if I left it like that for another year or 2 pretty sure it wouldn't survive. Now in my new case (Thermaltake CTE 750) its hanging from the top held by the bracket so no more sagging GPU problems.

an anti sag gpu support bracket would solve so many problems. When people spend that much money on a card and dont spend $10 on a gpu support its just stupid
@ignacio645415 сағат бұрын
Yes but if you actually look at the video, the card is warped the other way!! That would mean that maybe the owner WAS using a support bracket!! The problem was that he was probably simply standing the GPU in the very back, therefore bending it the other way. The only solution for large GPU's is to place the support stand in the middle or 70% before reaching the end of the card, putting the support stand in the side of the GPU.
