I use Zote to handwash, its the only thing that gets makeup off my shirt collars! I also use it for my makeup sponges and brushes.

I can see it working much better for hand washing so that makes sense.

I bought a pink bar of zote recently and grated it and used it in a small washing machine at the laundromat on warm wash. Gave it a nice soapy wash that tide pods couldnt do. But then again the clothes werent extremely stained or anything.

Zote is amazing. It is hands down magical for stains and even works for heavily soiled items. But it has to be used the right way: by hand and rubbed. Not in a machine.
@thecleanpsycho6 ай бұрын
I agree it work much better being hand washed but since the directions said they can be added to the washer machine I chose to test them that way. I may hand wash them in the future.
@AdrianChang-q5f6 ай бұрын
@@thecleanpsycho You implied Zote is worthless. And it is not. It is just the company selling flakes to jump on the band wagon of the homemade detergent trend (grated soap + washing soda + borax) and profiting from clueless people who think you can use soap in a machine. Also you said the smell is nasty which is true but to me, it is not worse than most commercial detergent, scent wise. I get some people are really fan of expensive detergents, but not everyone can afford them.

I use it as a stain remover. It takes out blood stains that have been there for about a month. Then I put the garment in the washing machine and the stains are gone.

I do have a question not necessarily related to the video but ur personal opinion. What are your thoughts on gain detergent and it’s cleaning power? God bless 💛
@thecleanpsycho Жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t know. I’ve only tried Gain powder and it did a pretty decent job. I haven’t tested the liquid or pod detergent so I don’t have an opinion yet.

You buy a bar of zote and scrub youre stains and laundry by hand its amazing soap

I tried Zote once and it left soap scum film in my washer. Because it's a soap not a detergent.

Right and I could see using it to wash by hand but I wouldn't use it in a modern washer machine.

This channel has definitely taught me a lot, plus many of my subscribers have shared their experiences which have been very educational. We all do our laundry a little differently so there is definitely something we can all learn from one another.

These alternative soaps are designed for people who give a care about the environment and don’t wanna put harsh chemicals into the environment. Secondly, they’re designed for people who are on a budget or who just want to treat the environment better putting them up against commercial brand detergents it’s like comparing an apple to orange you can’t do that you’re not going to get the same results be realistic when you use these products and don’t put unfair expectations against the soap when they’re not even comparable.

I almost always use a second rinse with my 2018 SPEED QUEEN TR5 SERIES WASHER. That's when I add fabric softener right around the agitator away from the clothes after the second rinse fill. SPEED QUEEN TR5 SERIES WASHERS recommend using only HE DETERGENTS. If you use a non-HE DETERGENT use only 1/2 the manufacturer's recommended amount.

Well to be fair ypu washed a white rag with colors so the dingyness may be because of the mixture of colors.

The instructions say you can use them as a laundry booster and that's what I did. You can post on your channel "the right way" to use the product so that we all may see how it does.

I wanted to see just the zote. Next test don't use a cloth with permanent marker and it won't look so dingy. There's people who swear by old school soap. Another one called fells naphta. And that's what this is. Soap. Not detergent. Which makes you wonder how it cleans so well in a machine. The downside to using any soap in a machine is soap is food for mould so I'd do hot monthly maintenance washes with oxyclean if you use zote more often.
@thecleanpsycho Жыл бұрын
I honestly threw the zote away because to me the smell was too strong and I just didn't like it.

@@thecleanpsycho wow, doesn't go away even after drying? It's not available in my market so can't try it
@thecleanpsycho Жыл бұрын
@john doe it honestly isn’t worth it to me. It’s very In expensive but if you have an allergy to fragrance it could break you out. It did clean but again it’s a soap product which will build up more easily than the HE washing detergents.
@johndoe-vc1we Жыл бұрын
@@thecleanpsycho what does it smell like btw? Am going to have to imagine it. Perfumes for detergents sold in the tropics come with strong scents because people sweat more there. Since most people gauge clean by no bad smell that is how a detergent either lives or dies in those markets
@thecleanpsycho Жыл бұрын
@john doe that’s interesting and idk how I’d describe it. It kinda just has. A strong bathroom cleaner smell to me. Which that could mean different things to different people. I just wouldn’t want my clothes smelling like it.
