They're hard to find. Amazon has some selling for $90 but they're estimated at over a month before shipping. I just bought a white logo 'open box' EC1-A on EBay for $50 to see if I like the shape. I'm currently running a ZA12. Love the sensor but the shape hurts my hand.
@ToxicFantasma8 жыл бұрын
Mast3r Race Yea, it's a shame. I probably wont be able to get a hold of an EC1-A, they are just too rare on Amazon. Probably will have to settle for an FK1 or a DA. Been waiting too long for an EC1-A that's under $65 and ships in less than 3 months.
@TheChurchofCacti8 жыл бұрын
Not sure if the FK1 is ambidextrous like ZA12 but I think it might be. This design caused crazy hand cramping after a couple weeks of use. I have to stress to keep my pinkie on the mouse with the ambidextrous design and my palm grip. Now I'm back to using my DA until the EC1-A arrives on Tuesday. Hopefully this is what I've been looking for.
@hibari428 жыл бұрын
+Mast3r Race yes it is ambidextrous. the ZA series have high backs, while the FK series backs are low, similar to a Castor. the ZAs are for palm grip and the FKs are for claw/fingertip grip, though some people don't find the set mice for each grip to be comfortable. it sounds like you need a wider mouse, but ZA11s are larger, so you may want to try that. or just go with the EC1-A you ordered :)

After you recommendation I got the EC-1A. I got it when it went back on sale on the 3rd of may and the side-buttons have much less travel than the one you showed. So I think they've already improved it already. Also the EC-1A feels so much more comfortable then the deathadder. EC-1A feels much longer and fits my 20.5cm by 10cm hand much better.

+Cpt. Gavorn Hey, can I ask you a question? I had the EC2-A from Zowie gear and I loved it with exception of the size and the surface. I want to get the EC1-A when it's back in stock, but on my old EC, the surface was really slippery (way more compared to FK / ZA). How is it on the BenQ versions?

I just ordered a Zowie ec1-a, used to have a death adder chroma but it had issues registering single clicks. It often registered a double click when it supposed to be a single click, and often it wouldn't register anything at all. This occured after precisely 1 year of use. I first exchanged my deathadder for a naga.. which started having tracking issues after 1,5 hour of use which couldn't be fixed with calibration or any other steps. Hopefully the Zowie ec1-a will be the best fit, It's larger then most, but luckily my hands are freakishly large ( 20 cm)
@ShinyEditz7 жыл бұрын
I just got the ec2-a today, and i've had the deathadder since 2013. The deathadder always felt a little uncomfortable for me, maybe because i have small hands. And the razer synaps software was too slow to load in whenever i started my computer, so i had like too high sensitivity until the software was running. I also had to choose between ec1-a and ec2-a, i was not sure what of them to get because i have always had big mouses. I decided to go for the ec2-a because it's smaller and suits my small hand, and this is the best mouse i've ever had. It just fit perfectly in my hand.

just my little input, I went for the deathadder and the only problem I have with it are the grips, if your hands tend to get sweaty the rubber will actually make it even more slippery, in my experience.
@MNB7306 жыл бұрын
the deathadder is such a wildcard if you buy it used or very cheap, chances you are going to get one working well and not fake is 1 in 20, if you want a mouse that is just right for the price and last very long with no problems just go for the EC1-A, i own the EC2-A for around 6 months (bought one that has been used for 8 months) and its still smooth and dandy

I think the side buttons on the side of the Zowie are like that for a reason and is not a flaw needing fixing. They are very soft which means you can reliably use the mouse while pressing the side buttons without messing up where you're aiming. Non-soft side buttons really affect your grip on the mouse as well as your aim, while using them.
@RocketJumpNinja8 жыл бұрын
+John Smith They have a ledge right underneath the side buttons to prevent accidental clicks, and to help maintain proper grip. Really no reason that I can see for the side buttons being that way.
@JohnSmith-tz7iy8 жыл бұрын
Rocket Jump Ninja No, what I'm saying is, if the buttons are too hard to press, you wind up squeezing the mouse which can affect the mouse aim. I am not talking anything about accidental clicks.
@CallumJamesMerrill8 жыл бұрын
+John Smith I don't think you can try to justify the side buttons, I just purchased a new EC2-A with the restock and the side buttons are actually loose already, they have way too much travel time and their positioning isn't that great. Coming from a SteelSeries Rival the side buttons on these mice are appalling.
@RocketJumpNinja8 жыл бұрын
John Smith Ah I see, but these are kind of hard to press in, because there's so much travel. The DeathAdder's are light with good tactile feedback, no problems. The Cougar 550M side buttons are a bit hard to press in. The EC1-A side buttons are too light and too far in. DeathAdder has a great balance.

I played with the deathadder chroma for over a year, it's a really good mouse but the braided mouse cable is really annoying even with a mouse bungie. Also the DA's left/right switches are too light, I often accidentally rightclick in cs go or shoot too much when I just tried to tap with the left mouse button. The sensor is great, also the sidebuttons. Build quality was not so good for me, pressing the mousewheel didn't work after a few months and the glue of the sidepads to keep your thumbs wear off. Now I bought the ec-1a to test it
@TheChurchofCacti4 жыл бұрын
I've had both these mice and think I prefer the EC1-A for the relaxed palm grip and my semi big hands. Right now I'm using the Mamba which is alot like the DA.

You didn't mention that you can adjust the lift off distance on the EC1-A by holding specific buttons while plugging the mouse in. i just got rid of my DA last week, and bought za12 for overwatch serious game. damn my aim imporved so much. believe it or not, the DA has huge pre-travel clicks imo. where as za12 is so much better in that sense. as well as weight. big factor. i dont play moba at all. used to play mmo with naga. i think DA is one of the best choice for moba and less-flick-required game. it feels good and the click is really good for moba.

I did not find ec1a comfortable after using DA 3.5G for 3 years. I use pinky and ring fingers to grip the mouse better on the right side. Owned and played with a Deathadder for roughly 2 years. Liked the sensor, but something about the ergonomics just wasn't right. If your hands sweat at all it's impossible to lift it properly, and the "rubberized" sides only make it worse imo. EC1-A on the other hand sticks to my hand like glue. If you've got big hands that sweat there's really no comparison.

Razer DA Chroma + Sensor feels more responsive than my ex mouse SS Rival 100 + Light weight + Scroll wheel feels good for scrolling web pages + Looks sleek and has nice color options + Side buttons are good enough, nothing to complain + 50 DPI steps (50, 100, 150, 200...) - Build quality, while deacent, is not the best - Skates are pretty small
@RocketJumpNinja8 жыл бұрын
The small skates might be why it feels more responsive too. I still haven't worked out what's going on with that, but apparently they did sensor tests and the G900 had less delay than the DA.

I have a hand that is 7.5 in long by 4.5 in wide and I am having a hard time deciding on whether I want to shoot for trying to use an EC2-A, or just go with the EC1-A since my hand is wide. Thoughts anyone?

You want a mouse that is easy to clean from jizz. I would suggest the Zowie EC2-A since it doesn't have a lot of edges and less things for jizz to hang or seep into.

Bought today an EC2-A (new version) after seeing your review for FPS gaming, I had an Mionix Castor but I will give this a try. I like a lot of your reviews, do you still recommend it? I notice my scroll wheel is more clicky and loud than the old version. Is this normal? Another question to you if you can answer is, the OS you use? I use right now the Windows 10 Pro, but if I'm not crazy it feels different than 8.1... Not by much but i still think I can feel some difference... And yes I untick the mouse acceleration in options in both OS´s and my monitor refresh rate is OK (165Hz). Thank you and hope to ear from you soon.
@RocketJumpNinja8 жыл бұрын
+Frederico Andre I use Windows 10 pro too. I didn't use 8.1. So I'm not sure. The scroll wheel is a bit more clicky in the new versions. But yes I still recommend the EC2-A.

For me the place where my fingers touch the mouse in order to pick it up is the place where should be wider, and not only the back of the mouse. Is the Zowie wider in that area (middle to the front a bit) compared to deathadder?
@RocketJumpNinja8 жыл бұрын
+Dan C DeathAdder is wider.

so the deathadder arrived to my doorstep to day and i could not wait testing it. I find it really liberating getting a mouse of this weight. Ive been using the mouse from corsair. the corsair m95 vengance, black. My god what a heavy mouse, i cant do flicks nor was i able to small adjustments with it in quick movements. and because of its unique shape ive gotten used to it sadly that means my hand does not feel compftable with the deathadder. although i really like the rubber pads and its weight :D though it seems like its curve is too aggresive for my own good and im unable to get a good grip with it.
@CaimanAlphaFoxtrotMike8 жыл бұрын
also i realized the "bumb" or top curve of the mouse is too far forward. if that makes sense... it feels like an ambidextrous to hold.. just ew. also because i cant find a good grip its allmost impossible to pick up
@CaimanAlphaFoxtrotMike8 жыл бұрын
i find it small. damn... FUCK i thought i found a mouse i would like. alas.... i its not the one T_T
@RocketJumpNinja8 жыл бұрын
How big is your hand? Also when I get a mouse with a really different shape, it some times takes me 2 weeks to adjust. I hated the Razer Copperhead for the first month, paid $100 for it, but after forcing myself to use it, it became one of my favourites.
@CaimanAlphaFoxtrotMike8 жыл бұрын
jeg i do hope so. just a little nervous for buying the wrong mouse. I have no intention of just returning it just after afew days.. i do like the mouse. but perhaps it is about adaptation cheers

my hand is odd... i guess. on the smaller side but i can still claw grip the mouse allthough the palm grip feels much less aggresive

Get the Deathadder Chroma if you're not serious about gaming (Pro gaming). If you are serious wait for his review on the deathadder elite, and make your decision then. I'm personally leaning towards the Deathadder Elite because of the build quality

can you explain to me why you would recommend smaller mice or do you maybe have a video about it?
@yourdadsblackberry79978 жыл бұрын
It's because smaller mice generally mean lighter, and he is a very competitive gamer. Smaller mice mean that you can move them further around the mouse pad.

I use a deathadder and my hands are 15 cms could be 16 1/2 cm and Im pretty good at CS but the problem is I feel like I dont have much control and my movement is bad but I cant get used to other shapes after using the DA for so long I was wondering what I should do get a ec2-a a g403 or keep my deathadder
@CaimanAlphaFoxtrotMike8 жыл бұрын
yo ive been using the Razer death adder for about 1 munth and ive come to the conclution that the mouse is still uncompftable to use. im in a dilema if finding the mouse i like. i dont have the budget to buy every mice i would consider testing. what should i do? if the deathadder is uncombftable to me then would the zowie be just as "bad for me" aswell? the main issue i find is that the deathadder is too flat and difficult to grip. the rest/grip is not so healthy for my fingers as ive been having pain issues on my joints of my ring finger :/
@CaimanAlphaFoxtrotMike8 жыл бұрын
atleast it feels flat. maybe its just too long. as my former mice the razer naga 2012. corsair m95 vengeance were very nice to hold. but somehow just didnt cut it. the m95 is too heavy and the razer deathadder is next to impossible to pick up
@jonno55818 жыл бұрын
My hands are just about 20cm long and 11cm wide. Right now I'm mostly playing Minecraft PvP but I am going to get CS:GO soon. My grip style is hybrid palm/claw and, with a smaller mouse, also finger tip mixed in with it. Right now I am using the Roccat Lua, which I am not very happy with. The max width I move my mouse in game is around 23cm. (incase that makes any difference) I still can't decide which of these mice to buy.. Do you, or anyone else, know how jitter clicking compares between the two? I am leaning towards the DeathAdder because you say its a bit more responsive but I really don't know. Thanks for taking your time to read this! :) and a big like from me!
@JamesNade8 жыл бұрын
+JustJonno Both are great mice, the clicks on the Deathadder are easier to spam and jitterclick. For 23cm/360 both of the sensors will almost get bored and will handle it without any problems. If you don't plan on playing super fast paced fps games then you should consider lowering your sensitivity for csgo, since 23cm/360 is pretty fast (obviously it is personal preference and tons of people argue over this matter). I would say you should get the EC1/2-A or ZA-11/12 with your handsize. My hands are 21cm long and 11 cm wide and i can use the ZA-11 perfectly fine in any grip (palm,claw,fingertip) while with the deathadder palm feels amazing but claw just doesn't work for me and many others with it. Good luck.

+JamesNade Thanks for the help and opinion bro! I didn't mean that I do a 360 in 23cm, I do a full 360 in much less. :P And my play style is very like reaction based and/or twitchy sorta? I like to play fast paced and quite competitively. One main concern, for me, about the Zowie mice is the buttons. I'd like to use the side buttons quite a lot and they don't seem too great on the Zowie. And apparently is harder to aim and jitter click with the buttons being harder to click. ....are you there Zy? :{

I miss my old ec2a that had the different switches. I really like omrons and it felt similar to that. the deathadder is a little too big , so that wont work either.

I don't quite understand why the zowie doesn't have any software to configure the buttons. I mean, okay, they're tailored for FPS players, but why would you add 2 sidebuttons if there's no way to configure them?
@rileyshaver398 жыл бұрын
+Neroxidy The idea behind having a driverless mouse for FPS is that a lot of high level FPS players are going to be going around the world to LAN's and might not want to have to deal with downloading software so in this case, the driverless nature of the Zowie mice is more convenient. That said, I agree that it can be annoying not being able to configure the side buttons and/or the lighting.
@honzas_978 жыл бұрын
+Neroxidy It's pretty much meant to be a professional FPS mouse (you can see just how many CSGO pros are using it). You don't have to worry about software or any settings with drivers. You just plug it in and it's working excatly the same on every computer.
@honzas_978 жыл бұрын
+Neroxidy And you can configure those buttons in-game or use them for push to talk in team speak. You just can't assign macros or any special functions to them.
