Had ss rival 300 for about a half of year until it broke. For me it was kinda good mouse but the real struggle for me with rival was that when you swipe mouse to the left side your palm skin will be cought underneath of your mouse surface. Going for ec2-a now :D

wow what a great review :D also nice in-game skills! I'm currently using the deathadder chroma and I was thinking about switching for some time now even though I used deathadders for the past 6 years. my hand size is 18cm and you said how the deathadder felt a little big for you even though your hand is slightly bigger - basically what I'm asking myself if I might do better with the zowie or the rival - I'm a full-on palm-grip user mainly playing csgo, so yeah any thoughts ? :D

Oh, RJN: ECx-A wheels do break (pre re-fresh 2016 at least). I'm on my second one atm. They usually break after a press in, not a scroll and get 'stuck' inside. You can then 'scroll' it back out, but everytime you click it it'll get stuck. That happened to me as well unfortunately. my current one doesn't have the issue (yet) though! :)

+TheNumberTrenton I use a Func MS2, and from what I see, the Castor seems to be a more sculpted, lighter fit version of the shell. I have a Hori Edge 101 on the way, but mostly just because it's ambi, and it's something different.

Great review and information when trying to decide on a new mouse, RJN,I am probably going for the Steelseries Rival, although I have been a happy owner of numerous Razer mice over the years. At the end of the day, what made the difference for me was going to a physical store and actually trying out the mice in person. Once you have narrowed down the field on the technical specifications, there is no substitute to actually try them out in person to get a real sense of what it will feel like.
@RocketJumpNinja8 жыл бұрын
+Oliver Krogh Hallin Thanks! And true, that's what the videos are for, really, narrowing the field, because I can't choose the mice for people... at some stage they're going to have to try them and see what they like. Personal preference.

+Tinkie Winkie probably the worst rank... the games we play are about much more than aim and movement. The reason I can play well in Quake is I've seen every situation before and don't have to think about how to react, plus have the experience of knowing what works. I'm going to try to get good at a few other games and then I'll start doing things like that.

You are right. I recently got my deathadder chroma, and compare to my old ss rival, it sucks. My hand starts to shake very steadily but its very ennoying to aim with. It seems its too wide compare to my rival. The only reason why i replaced.it is because my as grip where pressed in and it tilts me

+MeinGrein Better sensor, Better feel to my hand, Longer lifespan (lasts longer from personal experience), and the Side grips don't fall off. Also to add in, it's completely based upon preference, but I like Heavier mouses which the Rival is SLIGHTLY heavier and feels more comfortable to use.

My SS Rival has this disgusting sensor problem which occurred about 4 months after getting it, every now and again it sends my aim into the sky. Also the rubber on the sides have eroded, so now on both sides my fingertips have no rubber to touch since i've burned it away. I've had it for over a year, so I think my next mouse will be the Fnatic g1. BTW your reviews are the best on youtube.

Notice how the Rival actually has the most ''natural'' curve of these very similarly shaped mice: If I hold my EC1-a and look at it from above I hold it ''sideways'' a little. That's also when the sensor is the straightest when swiping my arm. The mousewheel is slightly tilted between my fingers. The Rival seems to have thought of that before hand as it isn't ''straight'' like the rest. See what I mean? xD The centre line and mousewheel divide the two main buttons in an offset line. Makes sense. EDIT: oh you actually adressed this as well, stating you actually don't arch that way hahaha
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+Kind Old Raven you're right, fingers are straightest on the Rival out of the lot of them. I hadn't actually looked at it other than the DeathAdder. It's not angled enough to be a big deal for the EC2-A, but still, definitely better on the Rival.

5.5cm does seem to be the golden width for aiming; I can find it on both my Intellimouse Explorer and Wheel Mouse Optical, even though the former is supposed to be a large mouse and the latter is a much smaller one.
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+Scop Underscore really? Wow. Been so long since I owned an Intellimouse I don't even remember the size. What's your hand size again?
@ZeZcop9 жыл бұрын
+Rocket Jump Ninja (Mouse Reviews and Gaming) My hand is 20cm long from the wrist to the tip of my middle finger. I can use both mice somewhat efficiently. I can't aim as well with wider mice as I can with these ones, which is why I'd be interested in trying out the EC2-A and/or the Rival 300. The Intellimouse has a very large base but at the ridge between the shell and the main buttons, it is 5.5cm wide.
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+Scop Underscore ah, nice, wonder what it is about that size. We might have to start measuring across the hand or something, mine's about 8cms across the palm; 9cm from top of thumb to end of little finger's base.
@ZeZcop9 жыл бұрын
+Rocket Jump Ninja (Mouse Reviews and Gaming) Ah, that might be it then! Even though my hand is longer, it seems about as wide as yours; I'm also measuring 8cm across the palm and 9cm counting the thumb. If this is really it, then we might have to start measuring hand width to make better recommendations.
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+Scop Underscore hah well there we go. It's been in the back of my mind for ages that hand width had to play a part too, I'm sure everyone's been thinking it, good to actually bring it up and get some confirmation. Hey man, I am looking for a new mouse and I only play FPS games ( mainly CS:GO at a semi-competetive level and trying to get better ) and I have been using g303 ( it got bugs and the shape just doesn't fit me ) , fk2 ( I loved the sensor and that but it kinda got my hand to hurt a little bit after a few hours so I guess the shape didnt fit me). I have quite small hands, about 17cm. I use a hybrid claw / palm grip but I am not that picky and can relearn grips. Which mouse would you recommend to me?
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+daspoCS The Zowie EC2-A is really comfortable and my favourite mouse, my hand isn't much bigger than yours, so it should be fine. And I've never played better with any other mouse. Otherwise, check out the Rapoo V300, Roccat Kone Pure or SteelSeries Rival 100.

+Rocket Jump Ninja (Mouse Reviews and Gaming) Thanks for the answer man! I've been looking at the EC2-A and I have finally made my decision. I am going to buy it! But, I saw on the website that they are "remaking" em or slightly updating them. If I buy one now I would probably get the older one. @RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+daspoCS still not sure how the new ones will be, but if you wait, maybe the old ones will come down in price (clearance). I don't think the upgrades to them are that important though, just different clicks (which are fine anyway) and different scroll wheel (that apparently breaks on the current version, but might break on the new one too, who knows!).

@RubiqEV7 жыл бұрын
For anyone looking to buy the Razer Mamba; don't. The laser sensor is awful and when you lift it (on counter-strike) it looks to the floor, gitters, or sometimes doesn't even move at all. I'm being serious. It could be the wiring or the port it's plugged into but i doubt it. Various other forums show people have the exact issue as me. If you do want a razer product, go for the deathadder or deathadder chroma :P
@tenmamut8 жыл бұрын
Which sensor is better, in Deathadder or in Zowie EC2-A? Becouse you said good things about deathadder's sensor, but kind of skipped part about zowie's sensor.
@RocketJumpNinja8 жыл бұрын
+Mamut Szatana EC2-A's is great, but the DeathAdder's is more responsive. I don't use the DeathAdder though, despite the responsive sensor, because it's too wide/big. As long as a sensor is good enough, shape and weight are more important.
@tenmamut8 жыл бұрын
+Rocket Jump Ninja I'm kind of torn apart between Deathadder and Zowie EC2-A. But Zowie seems more professional, so I'll probably go with Zowie. Also most pros use Zowie, so something must be on the line.

is this mouse similar to DeathAdder in its shape especially side keys? (Rival 700) When do the switches break? The same most cheap available switches like in other mice which will break after at latest 2 years and you have the usual doubleclick/no click problem? I'm really tired of it. Every mouse dies due to this and its annoying to throw away a perfectly fine mouse only because of that damnit switches..

Which one of these do you mostly prefer when it comes down to sensor performance??
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+Grin NeXuS Rival 300, DeathAdder and EC2-A ... they're all really good. People obsess too much about sensor performance. Get the mouse that is the right shape, quality, weight and balance for you. It's unlikely that you'll find a problem with the sensors in any of those 3.
@manXfight9 жыл бұрын
+Rocket Jump Ninja (Mouse Reviews and Gaming) I bought the Deathadder chroma like 3 days ago, I was just wondering since I feel the sensor of the mouse really responsive, and I was thinking if the 3310 sensors in the rival and in the ec2-A are better or the same with no difference at all in tracking.
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+Grin NeXuS there are very small differences in tracking and response. I think the DeathAdder sensor is the most responsive, but not the smoothest tracking.

i have 17cm hands and i play on a Claw/palm hybride grip, currently i'm using à Sensei Raw™ should i consider the G303 in the choice of a New mouse ? or the EC2/DA ?
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+PsychoBourek I wouldn't recommend DA because it's too wide, and that seems to affect my aim most (not sure if you're the same though?). The G303 might be a bit uncomfortable... if you think you can adjust to the shape, then sure. EC2-A is probably the safer bet for you.
@Nassimo06669 жыл бұрын

Which do you recommend? The Rival or the EC1-a? Happy new year to everyone!
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+T0XIC for big hands? I'd probably prefer the Rival overall, but I can't deny the EC2-A has helped me aim a lot better... if I had a Rival the same size I could test them properly. Hard to say. I really like the Rival 300 though.
@gcardoso719 жыл бұрын
+Rocket Jump Ninja (Mouse Reviews and Gaming) Well, I mean the EC1-a, which is bigger than the EC2. My hands are 19,5 cm, so... :p I was thinking about going with the Rival 300
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+T0XIC your hands aren't too much bigger then, so the EC2-A might be better. I can aim pretty well with the Rival 300, but my best is definitely the EC2-A. If I wasn't so competitive I'd probably just use the Rival all the time because it's more comfortable in Windows. So, how serious are you when gaming? That'll probably give you your answer. EC2-A just seems like a gaming mouse only. I never use it otherwise.

None of these mice work for me, I have a giant hand (sadly). Just the weight of my middle finger clicks the right button, I need to stick a small piece of foam rubber under the button to stop this. My hand dwarfs a Razor Deathadder, my pinky and ring finger drag on the mouse pad, so does the back on my palm. A Rival 300 is not much better and it's narrower. I have a MIONIX NAOS 7000 coming and I hope it works better.

@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+KamiyaKraft grip width, good way of saying it! I was trying to work out why mice felt different sizes when they had certain measurements, that's when I realized I was aiming better with thinner mice where I gripped it. Castor, going to order from Amazon so just doing up a shopping list, make the postage worthwhile :D
@ahkrael9 жыл бұрын
+Rocket Jump Ninja (Mouse Reviews and Gaming) I was just doing some measuring of my 2 mice, the Tyon and Func ms2, and despite the func being heavier, I found it much easier to manage, I think due to the tyon having a wider grip width, along with the rough plastic for lifting, compared to a rubberized finish. Next mouse I have on the way is the Hori Edge 101. Haven't used an ambi mouse in a long long time, but I'm excited to try it out, it's a very interesting looking mouse
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+Rodney Glinski sounds about right, the Rival 300 is heavier than the DeathAdder but the smaller grip width makes it easier to control too. I've been asked about the Hori Edge 101 a few times, definitely let me know how that one goes! If there's more interest for it I might get one to review.

Ty for your amazing videos once again. i have 19.5-20 cm of hands and im playing cs go at the top stage of competitive.Im using deathadder chroma for a while and i think its even a small mouse couse if i dont palm from far back my fingers allways going out from mouse idk if it happens when i get too much focus on game and could not think about mouse gripping but it happens me not often but sometimes,and about aiming i feel so good with it i did never had change to test rival but deatahhder is perfect to use .But as you sad previusly if mouse base get smaller a bit it will be perfect.
@RocketJumpNinja9 жыл бұрын
+Madara you're welcome! And if the DeathAdder is perfect for your use, then it's probably best you stay with it. If you do decide to change mouse, the Rival 300 is a good option, as it has that smaller base.
