i dont wanna use so many words to reiterate this point ZOYA and REEMA are one of the best collabs in HIndi cinema in recent times..period! DDD was a fantastic movie that explored the nuances of OUR daily lives captured in very realistic humanistic manner..i was sitting in the cinema with my sister discussing the movie and nodding our heads in unison as some scenes played out exactly what we go through as females on a daily basis...we still cant get over it..three days after watching the movie and we r still discussing it and if i had another ticket to go watch this movie, i definitely would!!!! standing ovation ladies: job well done and a fantastic, engaging interview from both of you..kudos to girl power!!

Great segment! I like the way all issues were addressed in a 'no holds barred' manner. I agree that film journalism is the worst, not only in bollywood, but hollywood as well. Poor writers and illiterates have colonised this medium. Regarding critics and reviews, from a while now, I had been noticing the lack of structure in the which films are reviewed. The rating system has no indication on the quality of the film. Films aren't judged in a fair manner. Also, a lot of the critics seem to undermine bollywood and don't give credit when it's due. When a good film is made, they start picking on insignificant issues rather than appreciating the film. My hope for bollywood is being fuelled by directors such as zoya akhtar and I really hope she continues making films exactly the way she does.

I loved their honest talk on the failure of today's mainstream reviewers to really assess a film on its worth and quality to instead go for superficial things like trade and box office. More than education on cinema like Zoya said, I think its the basic passion and interest that these guys are lacking that translates to poor reviews. They seem to not want to fully immerse themselves into the experience or the world the filmmaker is trying to create. Oh yeah, that star rating system...complete rubbish to really assess how good or bad a film is.

This was delightful to watch! Really hope we see a lot more movies from this duo. I really enjoyed Dil Dhadakne Do! Wonderfully relatable characters in a way we haven't seen on-screen before, great performances from the entire star cast, plenty of humour, important messaging and it was paced just right. It takes a lot of skill to juggle so many characters and different tracks in the film simultaneously whilst keeping the audience entertained. Splendid effort from Zoya and Reema! Bollywood needs to churn out more slice of life films which portray real people and explore human dynamics closely. And currently no one seems to do that better than Zoya and Reema.

Sibtain Qazalbash Pluto didn't work for many people and it's not because he was horrible in the film but just unnecessary considering they were so many scenes they could have added to make the story feel more complete. Like Anupama said that there were a few wobbly parts in the film and so instead of wasting screen time on the dog they should have ironed out the movie a bit more
@swareenagupta46909 жыл бұрын
i think the idea of using the dog in the film was brilliant nd well dats just my opinion
@MsTellywood9 жыл бұрын
Swareena Gupta Why did you think it was brilliant? I mean sure he was cute and all but what did the dog actually add to the story. The idea is to make a good film at the end of the day and adding Pluto in distracted from the overall story, its not like the audience needed his narration to understand what was going on

Dil Dhadakne Do was one of the best movies I've seen. Right from when the trailer was out and it being a Zoya Akhtar movie, I just knew it would be good and it turned out to be more. I remember enjoying the film so much and it was as real as it could get because even though they were rich, I could feel it. I felt it and it happens in families. Once Anupama had asked that how do you get past so much beauty that is shown in the film to focus on the film. But I feel that you don't have to do anything coz even thought everything was beautiful, the story was so entertaining and compelling that you just have to sit back and savour everything offered to you. And as Zoya and Reema said how they were noting everything, I was too in the film. I loved the film and maybe more so because it was the story of the rich and shot on a cruise coz it was treat fory eyes too. Also, everybody did a fantastic job but Shefali mam stood out for me. The realness, effortlessness she brought compiled with the emotions, I was in love with her!

On the issue of rich people film... I believe it was stupid discussion. Zoya should have just said that just because people are rich in the film they don't deserve their story being told! That's silly. That's dehumanising the rich. Zoya makes good rich people films because probably she has been part of that society and has keenly observed it. There are some fantastic middle class poor people films as well like Bareilly, shubh Mangal and Tanu weds manu. All that matters is a good story and good film. Not the class.

Zoya said 'one lifetime is enough with Reema'. Then Reema followed with a 'same here'. Zoya mocked her delicate dog story on a public platform. They kept talking over each other, competing to have their say and Reema looked uncomfortable throughout. Simmering tensions at best or trouble in paradise or just good old marriage; who knows! Adored the bit about Delhi high-flyers having less sensitivity than stable animals. Anupama's interviews are becoming one of the best sources of filmy information if not the best in all mediums. I really loved DDD. I could totally relate to it. Do this and dont do that, dress up like this, talk like this etc etc etc.I have watched it four times. ZNMD was an amazing movie but this one is just better (my personal choice!!) I loved how they handled Farhan and PC's love story. I just wish there was more of their story in the movie, but then it was an ensemble and everyone' part had to get importance. But i just wish they had toned down Raveer Singh's story with Noorie, and focused more on PC and Farhan. Both are such amazing actors. So expressive with their limited number of dialogues that when Farhan says, "what is the point in talking about all this??" , you see the frustration, the love and the pain in their body language. I loved it.My favourite scene. How i wish these two talented directors would cast PC and Farhan in a very intense love story. i would love to see one. Come on Reema and Zoya, give us some modern day Pretty Woman!! Pleaseeeeeeeee!!

Ah! Someone said it. I saw a more refined Zoya and Kagti (screeplay/script) in Dil Dhadakne Do than it was in ZNMD. DDD was a much better drama than ZNMD. The show I watched, people howled in laughter throughout the film. Even today in order to feel refreshed, I watch the movie on blu-ray and feel better. Its one of the best feel good films of recent times. Hugely under-rated.

I understand the superficial standard you're supposed to live by in BW, but please. You should focus more on your acting. Look at Kangana, so unconventional in her looks and her dialogue delivery is just not regular hindi heroine types. But look at how she's made a mark for herself.
