@ShahidAli-vx4nl3 жыл бұрын
@@areebfaiz6661 Yes. They spoke about the scene and barely spoke about Nasiruddin. His performance, though cameo, shows his prowesss and deserves some discussion in my opinion. He played a ruthless, selfish artist, a contradition in its own term and carried it so well.
@IdliAmin_TheLastKingofSambar Жыл бұрын
@@ShahidAli-vx4nl I don’t see how Naseer-saab’s character (Salman) was ruthless, although he was certainly selfish, which he kinda admits in the scene. (Imran is selfish for much of the movie, as well, really until he meets his biological father-it’s clear that the two of them are very similar, personality-wise.) He didn’t want to be a father emotionally, but became one biologically, and was too scared and unready to deal with that. At the same time, he bailed the boys out of jail, even though they were strangers to him, invited them to his home, and when asked, told Imran the unvarnished truth. I can even imagine that, if Imran were ever able to forgive Salman (an incredibly difficult thing to do, obviously), that the two of them could one day be friends-although, like all protagonists, Imran undergoes something of a transformation, and is a much less selfish and more mature person by the end of the film.
@pranavdesai46223 жыл бұрын
Thank you Anupama for this and many such interviews. You asked the most intriguing questions…..Hrithik’s emotions post deep dive, Imran’s meeting with his father, how much was cg used in the final bull chase scene? Its so satisfying to come out of your interviews where one finds answer to thoughts that crossed his/her mind while watching the movie (1st or the nth time like me😁). Quality of your questions not only speaks to your depth of knowledge but also reflects your ability to judge/understand what most common Indian scene goers feels (even like me who is out of India but follows movie’s religiously). Thank you for keeping the film companion growing inspite of current times🙏🏼

I mean release the sky diving footage already, there would be a way I guess, this was the perfect opportunity to release as bonus scenes on 10 year anniversary. Or there could be a short segment directed on the Skydiving making itself, that would be wonderful.

Zoya is a fantastic filmmaker! Luck By Chance just reflects the state of affairs today in the industry. Her cinema is enjoyable, almost ethereal and dream like in places- kinda like Luca Guadagnino’s films (the beautiful cinematography, the sets) but just it’s own unique thing. It’s just amazing. The characters are multi dimensional and the stories are universal. Everyone can relate to something! I didn’t love Gully Boy, but Zoya is just phenomenal and so is Reema. Their films literally defined my childhood

Loved, loved, loved the interview. Always so much fun getting insights into film making and BTS stories. But on a completely different note, I have something to say that I have been feeling for such a long time. The interview could have been with just Zoya Akhtar. Poor Reema hardly spoke (or got a chance to speak!). And I have seen this happen so many times. It happened with Ludo interview where Abhishek Bachchan just wouldn't stop speaking. It happened with one of the round table conversations of actors with Rajeev Masand where he just would not let have any other actor (Rajumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Nawaz, Jaideep Ahlawat) have a word. I see this as a patter. Most star kids end up getting maximum space in most interviews, where some of them evidently hog the mic (Abhishek B and Saif for instance.) We understand, you have the gift of gab, we get that you have some interesting inside stories, you have the confidence, but not letting other people have a chance to speak is not only disheartening but downright rude. And this is when Abhishek and Saif are on the panel where there are far better actors than them with a range they both can't even imagine. Ditto for this interview. I wish Reema had spoken more, given us more insights into the writing journey. She made so much sense when she spoke about creating this amazing friendship in the movie by drawing heavily from their own personal trip. Even the body language of Zoya and Reema say so much about their comfort in the industry. Zoya seemed so easy. Reema sat stiff throughout. Maybe Reema is not that articulate. I could see she didn't have much to say when she got the chance. And I don't want to completely blame Zoya here but I don't know, there is something so unsettling, something so heartbreaking to see these star kids hog the mic and not let the *outsiders* speak up at all.
