3.6L gas V6 or 2.8L diesel 4 - which ZR2 would you choose?
@chrisa75196 жыл бұрын
Truck Central none. I took that truck right back to the dealer just after 3 months of ownership. Shocks are ass and the dash is just so ugly. truck doesn’t even preform well off road.
@davidblalock99456 жыл бұрын
Truck Central I’d want the diesel with a standard transmission not a slushbox. Seriously i can’t drive an autotragic because my left foot will push the clutch to the firewall as i come to a stop and that can cause a serious accident.

Umm if you don't like the wheel in the bed, they actually come from the factory with it under the bed which is more usable until you do hardcore rock crawling. Definitely my dream truck since I live in the country and do some hunting and fishing and having a truck like this would help me out tremendously. I am happy they changed the blue, but my choice is the Deepwood Green Metallic with black bow ties, in a crew cab and a V6.

I own the jeep Rubicon and it's not stock.i just ordered my zr2 with the v6 and lift and 35 tires. I have seen the zr2 off road and they impressed me alot enough to buy one.i have dragged many tacos out of trouble trying to do serious off roading.

Here comes all the tacoma guys "can't get it in a manual so no deal chevy". 95% of all tacomas are automatic. 😂😂😂
@robh89746 жыл бұрын
You can still put the tire underneath. The spare tire in the bed is an option.

I never noticed the sausage fest wheel design before lol

The Raptor may technically start in the low $50k's, but in my area I search within 300 miles and maybe 10 out of 300 are under 70k...and those are still in the 60's!
@i2ambler20025 жыл бұрын
I do wish people would stop comparing this truck to a Ford Raptor. The Raptor is almost *twice* the price at over 70K now.
@Cages_Domain6 жыл бұрын
The tire in the bed is an extra option not standard. Standard comes underneath the bed like all trucks. Enjoyed your clip

I like the wheels even more now

The wheel design looks like the old Pontiac honeycomb. I have a 2022 ZR2 Colorado after having Gen 6. Camaro the ZR2 makes it easy to not miss the Camaro
@cheepen14496 жыл бұрын
will it be ok to remove the turbo silencer on my diesel??

I have seen ZR2 destroy the Raptor on a lot of vs videos on youtube

I think they need to do a ZR2 rush. Like they have with the raptor rush. Just to see how they do.

Maybe we'll get a more practical version when they eventually drop the Ranger Raptor.

Polarized filter. If you’re going to have the GoPro outside, get a polarized filter for it.

Blake Swan unless ur on a tight trail where the raptor won't fit. Seen Raptors have to stop where Jeeps and zr2 keep going
@BIGBOYCHEVY3836 жыл бұрын
Blake Swan the zr2 stock is 7 miles faster stock racing the mint 400 and take Raptors jdm 3.5 twin turbo bullshit and you got yourself a 189hp jdm truck hahahaha

The rims are like the raptors
@TheCpaschal866 жыл бұрын
To be fair, the Raptors with the v6 sounds like crap too. Ford even pumps engine noise in the cabin to make up for it. Super lame in my book
@overbuiltautomotive12995 жыл бұрын
agree lame as it get snow flaky sticking sound in cabin use the say 4.8l short stroke v8 with them 8 speeds plenty of mileage..they cost pleny they can use a v8 get epa to remove obumer regulations all so diesels do not suck as bad

What do I see in the wheel design? Snowflake..... Haaaaaa Haaaa
@x-man50566 жыл бұрын
Those rims are NOT off road rims. Stuck in mud or soft deep sand? Rocks can easily get stuck in there. Good luck with those rims. They are nice looking CAR rims. That said, lots of "off road" trucks have ridiculously nice "on road" rims so it's our fault I guess that Chevy thought we would like them. Other than that, I'd love to have a new ZR2 (I have a 03 S-10 ZR2), but I can buy allot of gas and aftermarket assys, and have a ton of money left over for going where ever.
@AC-xq4hh6 жыл бұрын
X-Man what wheels would you suggest
@x-man50566 жыл бұрын
For serious off roading, steel wheels with smaller vent holes. The deep turbine style wheels on stock ZR2 are very nice wheels, but would act as big mud/sand blenders and dig you in deeper, hold rocks and dirt clods between them. Steel wheels are better for crawling also IMO. Better to have a wheel that bends than fracture from rock impact. The stock wheels are not a problem for most people though. My 2003 ZR2 has stock aluminum wheels that are more well suited for tough terrain than new ZR2. They don't look as good though.
@KTMcaptain5 жыл бұрын
X-Man I agree with you on steel rims. A sledge hammer, large pry bar, and some accelerant is all you need to fix one of you fold the bead. Alloy rims would just crumble and become too brittle to fix.
@Con_Rad8506 жыл бұрын
@40k i would just get a Jeep!
@i2ambler20025 жыл бұрын
I had contemplated a Jeep Wrangler unlimited Rubicon - but after driving both on road, I went with the zr2. The wrangler will win off road, and with the aftermarket. However, the Zr2's on-road handling was way superior for day to day driving. I swear, the ZR2 really drives on-road like a unibody crossover. Off road it can tackle all but the most difficult trails.

And dont even bring up the Toyota reliability bullshit. 3rd Gen Tacoma has been ranked least reliable midsize truck two years in a row.
@jackhook41925 жыл бұрын
I had a Tacoma before in 93 the frame rusted into and broke in half which is pretty common with them up north.

Even better! A Briggs and Stratton is more reliable than that 3.6!!

If you bought a zr2 you got screwed!!! The engines choices are garbage!!!
@Nangjelovski5 жыл бұрын
the v6 is a good match with this size truck
@FXIIBeaver5 жыл бұрын
It is a midsized truck. Tacomas do not have a V8. Frontiers do not have a V8. You want a V8 buy a full sized.
@peruser1555 жыл бұрын
Negative. V6 is more than enough.
@theaveragejoestinkeringand44075 жыл бұрын
They are the best engine choices. I4 Diesel or a stout v6
