IWrocker they did they're just calling it The trail boss

Sherman Brown I know but the Trail Boss doesn't seem nearly as off-road ready and equipped as the ZR2. Seems more of an appearance package that's Lifted an inch or 2
@jmac62486 жыл бұрын
Trailboss isn't off road worthy. Just an appearance package.

The only thing the ZR2 is missing is a V-8 the 5.3 would be great in it!😀

The 3.6 gas V6 has plenty of power and if you want more a tune and/or a super charger are easy mods. I have more power than needed with intake/exh and premium gas.

Steven Claggett what are good intakes and exhaust for the zr2? I just got one and I’m looking these modifications.

The zr2 is a outstanding truck.the money u save on buying it over the Toyota tacoma Trd pro or the raptor u could lift and put 35 tires on the zr2 and get rid of it's only downfall clearance. I own the jeep Rubicon and I am going to get a zr2 mostly because of the front and rear lockers.

How the hell you getting 18 mpg on diesel when everyone else (including me) is getting 28-31?
@TheWVgoodguy226 жыл бұрын
Absolutely LOVE the Chevy Colorado ZR2 which is my new dream truck since I love the outdoors and don't need a HD truck or even a 1500. I would also pick the gas over the diesel and save some $$$ plus it is much faster and peppier off the line. My last vehicle that I sold as a Chevy car salesman was a Graphite Metallic ZR2 (one of my fav colors aside from the Deepwood Green Metallic. Okay idea for you for those in other states that want their truck featured on the channel. How about if they are so inclined to do so and are comfortable in front of even behind the camera, they send you a short walk around video of their truck explaining some cool features and mods, you share it and speak upon what you think of their truck in a review. I know eventually you will have more TruckTubers all over the country to help with that, but in the meantime that is my suggestion.
@TheWVgoodguy226 жыл бұрын
Excellent EZ it is a great lifestyle truck for sure would work perfectly for hunting and fishing, fits in places better and if you need to haul a boat up to a 20 ft fiberglass bass boat you can, which is the biggest thing I would even haul with it, but I currently don't have a boat yet and would go with a smaller one in the 18-19ft range.
@Kiafoulis15 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your review. I have been toying with the diesel but you have convinced me that it probably would not fit my driving habits. Again, thanks - as I have spent too much time in thought about choosing the diesel rather than the gas option.

Nice video for zr2, I really like color, truck is amazing I will buy one same like this one from video but with diesel probably next year, I would like sunroof and electric rear window, I like size, mpg and capability, I would like to Chevy lift zr2 for one inch and put 33 inch tires, than will fit perfect for me

Dude, my 2017 Duramax diesel Colorado averages 25mpg mixed. Yours was probable regenning during the driving or you just drive like a maniac. I love my truck, I drove 6hours to PA for it in my 2015 Ford transit connect, it averaged 26mpg, traded it in on the ZR2, drove back in the ZR2 and it got almost 27mpg on the way back beating my small econo work van. Yeah the Duramax is slow, but I’m soo pleased with the gas mileage, appearance, and overall I love the truck sooo much

I’m curious to see how this 4 cylinder duramax would do after being tuned and deleted. The stock duramax (at least the v8) are decent but after simple tuning and deleting of emissions they come alive!
@TruckCentral6 жыл бұрын
Would definitely be interesting to find out, but with all that effort you'd probably be better off putting your money into a heavy duty Duramax.

I want a Colorado zr2. The diesel motor is upgradable and tunable Bigger turbo, and a delete, which will probably increase gas milage. More power and torque.

The Diesel gets great fuel mileage aver a 5000 mile break in! Love the fuel efficiency I'm getting with the miniMax!

Its gotta be expensive to refill though. Im actually looking at the diesel zr2 over the TRD 4X4.

I wish they could try to put a small v8 in one of these things. I have a 2015 Chevy Colorado crew cab short bed with a 6in rough country lift kit. I have 32.5 in firestone tires and 18 in halo rims. My Colorado is also a z71 4x4. I love this truck to death, but one thing I wish they had was a v8 in it.

Bomb news!! I just read that GM will discontinued the 2.8l Duramax for next year. What do you think about it? The price of it will drop and find parts also will be hard. What's your thoughts about it?
@TruckCentral2 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t surprise me, this engine’s lineage goes back two decades (same basic engine design was in the first gen Jeep Liberty). Parts availability should be strong and residual values should actually be really good. A (slower) diesel won’t seem like such a compromise as miles rack up - the fact that it’s a diesel will make these trucks desirable for a long time.
@jefferywalton81766 жыл бұрын
My diesel ZR2 transmission doesnt shift at highway speeds, doesnt hunt like a gas does. I'd rather have the 6 than a clutch pack looking for the next gear, and my converter pulsing.

Actually anyone that know better can tell you when you go to the dealer you can get the diesel for the same price as the gas. Trust me! Also it is a great thing that it is quiet outside. You can order from a drive thru or not alert your whole block you are leaving in the morning.

I just can't take a review of this truck seriously when it has that ridiculous "trail boss" package added to it. What exactly are those light pods supposed to illuminate way back there behind and underneath the curve of the cab?

A brand new ZR2 with the diesel engine is going to run you around $58,000 after taxes. A raptor that is one year old with 7000 miles on it is $61,000. The Raptor can tow close to 6000 pounds more than the ZR2. There is no comparing the ZR2 to a Raptor plain and simple. And if they consider the ZR2 cheap at $58,000 with the diesel engine they have another thing coming to them. I will wait for the ranger Raptor. The interior dashboard dials switches and knobs are all very cheap feeling they use the same stuff in a Cadillac as they do in the Chevy Cruze very cheap of GM. First winner with my new ZR2 it's spent more time in the shop ended up with multiple issues due to the cold weather short and skinny GM bought the piece of junk ZR2 back. If I had only gotten the diesel engine I would have never seen any of those problems.

@AP-wf9nu6 жыл бұрын
The zr2 is typical GM garbage. Poorly built, unreliable, over priced, over hyped, ugly, underwhelming, and weak. GM dealerships are packed with these pieces of shit because they can't sell them. And the ones that they did manage to sell are making tow truck drivers alot of money. The Raptor out performs it in every way.
