Ironically, the statement used to imply they don't care about animals--in choosing to save laptops and hard drives over their cats during a fire--just further shines a light on their overall view of animals. I would 100% choose my dog over my computer if there was a fire and I could only save one. Even if I *could* save both, my dog would be the *first* thing I would try to save. Just the thought of her being scared or struggling to breathe or getting burned from the heat breaks my heart. Zrcalo seems to think that by indicating that they were not concerned with the safety of their cats, it demonstrates that they don't have the cats on their mind. In reality it just seems like they don't love their animals. If anything it more implies that if they can't see the creature as a sexual object then they have no real use for it. Just... showing that they see the animals as disposable.

I want note that taxidermy and vulture culture itself (which is basically just collecting dead specimens and the taxidermy itself) isnt bad in of itself. We use taxidermy to make the dead look alive again and help give pet owners something to remember if they decide that they want their beloved pet still around as a physical memory.
