I'm so happy this video came around. Very few halo videos get me smiling the whole way through, but this video definitely did that. Song 1 is honestly perfection to me, it's pacing, angle and effects work just hits with me the most, your colour work throughout this ENTIRE video is so pleasing to look at, along with the effects work like the hand drawn animated lines spewing out the screen. Honestly one of if not my favourite H2 edit/s I've seen. Never had this feeling from a montage before, but was actually feeling proud of this video. I could literally gush all day about the angles, the syncing is as good as I expected, but the angle work in this whole video makes all this autistic shit you had to do to make this shit LOOK this good, look really fun, when it's a process and a half. Beginning of the video starting off from the closer from Fractal, Trippy mask effects, the framework of lockout tracked to the wall after the double shot jaro is incredible, the entire super bounce sequence (first one with dutchy) with the banshee angles and far out map angles is a fucking masterpiece, the perspective shots snapping back to your spartan with some using green screens happens so much in this video and each time it looks S tier, VHS transition into song 2 while simple, works effectively, super bounce angle sequence at 9:26 is also incredible, all the extra little details like the lyrics on song 2 "Lockdown" on the lockout angle, the radar tracked to the wall on ivory tower at 8:38 (disgustingly good detail btw), the text on the wall on the all stick tac on tombstone at 10:16 saying "They don't call him ZRTROOKIO for nothing!" along with turning back to the wall after turning away saying "Or do they...", love that shit, and the closer with the trailer faking out what it actually was in the end was so sly in the best way haha, plus that zoom out into the timeline was just the fucking chef's kiss, excellent way to end off the video. The entire credits sequence also just being super wholesome. I LOVE this video. I'm not even afraid to say this is the best halo 2 montage I've seen. And I haven't even really talked about the fucking clips at all. I don't have much to say here that will already be said, but it's just incredible, every single closer for each song is literally an ending of a main. Best sniper and sword fly gameplay in the game too. This video definitely didn't focus as much on combo gameplay as much as your snipe gameplay. Which is good, So many swipe snipes from far away and the sword fly clips were INSANE, gemini sword fly tac into sword fly frenzy into sword fly trocity was so damn good, rocket on the wall killing the lifting tac on ivory, insane 2s clips, multiple jaro+ clips with disgusting snipes, and already brought up the closer, don't want to spoil it for people that haven't seen the whole video yet, but I was stunned by that upon first watch. I would have more to say but I've already seen this so many times. My favourite Halo 2 montage I've ever watched in terms of vibes, editing, gameplay, everything man. So glad you got this video out in time, was so worth it in the end. You're one dapper looking lad no homo

Congrats on the release. Five years is insane and I can only imagine the weight lifted by releasing this. It is incredible in every way. The lack of filler for a 16 minute video is a feat on its own. Couple the lack of filler with unique clips that no one has ever hit (super bouce triples and rico Tac) and your editing, which was masterful. The homage to Sk0ls/LIT was awesome in song 2 and song 3 is nutty. Editing was top shelf for H2, especially all the camera tricks and tools you were able to use throughout. Shout out to your actors who acted splendidly in your angles. I appreciate the shout out as well; it has been refreshing to see you breath new life into H2 montaging.

Bro what the fuck. Inspiring all the way through, the depeche mode - Shine on back to back closer gotta be one of the greatest montage moments I’ve seen. This video is so filled with ideas and attention to detail, had no idea what to expect going into this but I’m blown away. There were so many angle sequences that just had me impressed with how many unique ideas you brought to life. The angle work is better than pretty much any h3 video, and that game has a working theatre/dolly cam. The work that you had to put in to stage/capture these moments is admirable. I always love seeing someone go for an absolute opus and it paying off. Instant classic, one I’ll be revisiting for ever. Thanks for making this

I still remember the day in high school when we first really talked and it was about Halo. In my head, I was a good Halo player, it was the only shooter game my mom let me play. I was confident that I would go 50/50 or beat you. 15-3 with you on top, I only hit those three kills because you were trying to hit trick shots off me. I never fathomed that someone could be that good at a game and know all the inner mechanics. The next few years were a blast, I had the opportunity to meet all of the people who you played with and what a great-loving community it was. I watch this video now and I do not see Halo game play, I see a form of self expression and art. You have become the most talented editor I have ever met and I cannot imagine the work you have put into your videos over the years. You brought tears to my eyes and I love you dude. You are always going to be that guy I brag to my friends about when they claim to be good at a game. Just like me before I met you, they have no idea what being a legend is...and that you are. I know I'm a year late to this, but god damn I don't even have the words to describe some of these clips. Turf quad jaro, lockout triple, and of course the closer were unreal. The variety of clips between playlists and snipe/non-snipe clips was perfect and I loved the soundtrack and transition work for this. You did your clips justice, and glad to hear you don't plan on calling it quits just yet.

Zrtrookio, I am so glad this is out. This video was pretty emotional for me personally because we basically witnessed each other grow up through Halo 2. We would escape from life's ups and downs through Halo 2 for years! This game created a friendship that I will forever remember. I am honored to have been a part of your journey montaging for H2. Everything from the syncing, CC, clips, music was perfect. I freaked out when I saw that through the wall rocket tac on Ivory tower, the noscope Jaro on Beaver, the swordfly trocity, the ricochet tac on District. So many crazy clips in here. I LOVED seeing Halo CE maps in here too, that was so unexpected and it made me smile. So many hours of life spent trying to make this project happen and it was 100% worth it dude, this is a movie! The beginning was very reminiscent of Fractal. You manage to inspire me on many levels with your editing. It truly feels like the end of an era with the release of ZRTROOKIO. You are very talented and I can see your editing skills being taken elsewhere other than Halo if you ever decided. You have an eye/ear for the flow and cohesiveness of film/music polymerization. The Ascension transition to big tower was amazing, and the panel effect was so smooth. I could go on and on frame by frame about how amazing this was. Happy Birthday Halo 2 and Cheers Trooks, you dropped the best Halo 2 video ive ever seen imo. I hope you are happy with your release bro because this turned out to be a God Tier montage. God this is so good, I couldn’t stop watching it all day. Too many things to point out so I’ll keep it short. Adored this edit to bits, literal perfection and to keep up such a high quality edit for 16 minutes is insane. Something about 9:55 - 11:00 just hit different, favourite section of the whole vid especially with that god damn Zanzibar clip to close the song. Other fav clips would be the Gemini b2b2b sword fly troc, district jaro x2 aaand of course the closer, but that being said I don’t think there was a single clip that seemed like a filler, literal top tier gameplay the whole time. It’s rare for someone to be so talented at editing and playing, and on top of that to have the passion to crack out something like this. Couple months back made a small twitter post sharing the halo vids I saw last year and asked for people to recommend some that I had missed. NoobSlayer recommended this video and many others seemed to be in complete agreement. I have always loved watching the halo montage scene, so much effort is put into the projects, this video ESPECIALLY! Quite glad I got to see this. The map layout on the wall into the transition, every single shot and flick lookaway, the spins and the jumping off the map shots. THE KILLAMANJARO finisher on the elite riding the ghost OMG MAN THATS INSANE. The sfx and all the audio manipulation was done so carefully and it was quite effective. Love the soundtrack you chose and the editing style that accompanied it. Really fond of these full length halo vids, yours stands out so well. The credit scene was fantastic, fit the tone of the vid and it closed the video out perfectly. Still trying to wrap my head around that closer, the fact you hit that is mindblowing. The first clip is one of my favourites of the whole video along with the lockout off the map triple, that fucked sanc frenzy on Phurion, the ascension launch triples, all the phat ns clips and of course the ricochet on district. I remember you saying you were going for ricochets for ages but that was actually FUCKED. Also best angle work in a Halo 2 video ever (sorry GTS). Favourite angles were the district stairs angle and the ascension launch angle. Only gripe was the parts with the medal audio coming up before the kill. Good job man will definitely be coming back to this a lot

I just watched a lot of vids with editing that I liked and then tried to replicate parts of what I saw. Mainly I just slapped shit around in editing softwares to get a feel for the tools and pressed buttons until I got something that I felt looked good. Also love your profile pic I use the same one on whatsapp haha

@@ZRTROOKIO I’ve been trying to learn Premiere by messing around and also watching tutorial vids. Glad to hear that much skill is attainable through that route. Just oozes style. This is an all time great Halotage. One question I’ve always had about filming alternate angle shots in H2 montages is, how is that attainable in H2 with no theatre mode? I get it in H3 but I don’t understand how it’s done in H2. Haha that’s awesome. One of my fav movies as a kid growing up.
