Zsofi Valyi-Nagy on the legacy of Vera Molnar

In this month’s episode of “Under the Cover,” Artforum’s West Coast editor Bryan Barcena speaks with artist and art historian Zsofi Valyi-Nagy about the pioneering computer artist Vera Molnar, who died last December at the age of ninety-nine.
Valyi-Nagy discusses Molnar’s relationship to the computer as a tool, the impact on Molnar of experiencing a computer screen for the first time in the early 1970s, and the idea of “unimaginable images.”
“Speak to the Eye,” a major exhibition of Molnar’s work, is on view at the Centre Pompidou, Paris, through August 26.

I am a huge admirer of Molnar's work. Sadly enough, we need a huge monograph for her badly.
