I'm looking at picking up my first ZT, I usually buy Spyderco folders or random fixed blades. I think this is just to slim for me. I love the blade though. I'm not really a fan of that lock but I see why it's on this design.

But Complex if you were running for your life through a forest and got caught in a snare you could get a stick lodged in the hole blocking the flipper and making the knife unable to deploy and cut yourself free . I really like this knife . Great design

With this frame lock design, is it true that gripping the handle helps to keep the lock engaged? ie. Your fingers are naturally holding the frame lock in place.

I think Emerson has a double detent, I sold all mine so I can't check. I could be wrong though.

Wouldn’t the solution to the problem of putting your fingers on the lock bar be a liner/bolster lock?

Thatd likely make the knife more expensive. A liner lock does the same though.

I’m not a huge fan of the closing action because of the tunes detent system it won’t ever fall shut. I rather just go without that tuned detent system and use skill to not place finger on lock bar.

Question. What difference does it matter really if the blade falls shut? That seems to only matter to those who constantly fidget with their knives instead of using them for there intended purpose. Been using knives over 30yrs now and this has a yet to be an issue for me, even when deployed in the Army. I use my knives all day every day is my point..

It doesn't matter. Most of the elements we expect in "higher end" knives don't matter at all. Makes it interesting and fresh though. Depends what you like/want. Everyone is different.

I wish it was all titanium or all carbon fiber with a liner lock. I don't dig the half and half look.

Shaving some weight while keeping lock properly sturdy, at least more sturdy then hair thick liner.

@@Cypeq I think full anodized blue titanium would of been sweet. Even if it was 0.5 ounces heavier it would still be 2.8 ounces.

My favorite knife is the 0562cf. My only issue is that it's heavy as balls. I would like something that's 3.5" in blade and 3-4 oz. if possible, less than 5 is great. ZT doesn't really release very much stuff anymore. That sucks. BUT AT THE VERY LEAST they should update their existing products with some of the new tech and design they do have. For example they came out with a 0562 in Ti that is actually lighter than the carbon fiber one I have. Why can't they come out with a updated 0562 one that has a full carbon show side with a metal insert that encompasses the bearing contact, the thumb stud/stop pin (the 0652's thumb studs don't work as thumb studs but act as stop pins), and the tuned detent system. A nice full carbon scale is hella strong and as stiff as steel/titanium of the same shape and size and ZT has other models including this 0707 with full carbon scales.
