Awesome tank. Definitely worth the grind, but I wish there were at least three of them. However, the WZ1001 is definitely better and is my favorite tank in the Chinese tech tree. A video will be coming out on that tank very soon. Both of these vehicles are addicting in a way. They're the top of the line for maneuverability at 11.7; they brawl and snipe as well as a NATO tank while having the frontal armor of a Russian MBT.

@@introspection843 The armor layouts are identical. Same ERA in the same places and same armor layout for both chassis and turret. The WZ1001 has twice the gun traverse, and significantly faster ammunition with slightly more penetration.

ZTZ-99A is basically the better BVM Making it also superior to T-90M in basically everything ZTZ > BVM > T-90M Also making ZTZ the best soviet-ish tank in the game by FAR Im currently on rank one, since I dropped japan and now began china, M8 LAC is pure ecstasy

I've really enjoyed them. Past the Type 96, they're a breath of fresh air. While they're based on the T-72, the Chinese engineers have changed enough of the vehicle so significantly that I'd compare them closer to NATO designs. If only they'd design a faster auto loader.

Yeah, kinda. The play-styles are similar, but this tank can frontally absorb top tier sabot and atgms. As if a hellcat had the armor of a Pershing on the upper front plate and turret.

I quite enjoy them. I've played the Wz1001 enough to earn the free ace crew and it performs outstandingly. Their reload speed and armor leave a little to be desired, however their speed and agility are unmatched. If you're skilled enough to reign in the innate desire to overextend, they're outstanding tanks.

Anything relating to turrets is a desynced mess, so I wouldn't say they don't break as much as the server doesn't think you hit them.

The entire soundscape of War Thunder changes twice a year at least. The same tanks/guns in the same game will sound totally different in 2024, 23, 22, and 21. If it's not that, I'm probably running a mod pack because of how inconsistent the sounds are at times.

It's a mix. 16X Atistropy, TAA max render resolution, highest res texture pack combined with low terrain, low particle, and low physics simulation and terrain displacement. I prefer the game to be more functional and I dislike getting killed because I can't see through a muzzle report or a few blades of grass that my opponent can see through.
