Every detail on the weapons is the most underappreciated part of animation It looks easy, but every part of the component is extremely difficult Props to them
@AnotherSakuga2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, the animation of weapons is quite complicated because the animator needs to have the knowledge about how the model that is being adapted works, as well as being able to represent some things like recoil and mechanical elements For this reason I find it very satisfying when these animations are made so well done

Nice selection, but I may have been spoiled by Hobbes. Your music selection doesn't match up with your transition and framing. It's a little jarring.

3 rewinds later the first minute is the only thing that bugs me on sinking the final 5 is wonderful. Seeing 'LUPIN' played to devil trigger is kinda hilarious though, not jarring just mismatched theme.
Я из России и могу сказать , что у нас есть уроки обращения с оружием, но даже я которая держала ещё в школе настоящее ружье в руках, понимаю как трудно показать работу с ружьём людям которые даже его в живую ни разу не видели 👍
The older animated cuts of assembling guns or even just reloading is satisfaction on another level. Doesn't get old. In fact, it's aged phenomenally. Makes me want to rewatch some of these films like Jin-Roh and the two Ghost in the Shell movies.
@AnotherSakuga Жыл бұрын
It's a level of detail that denotes all the effort behind the production, which makes sense with Oshii's old projects and all his overqualified staff (especially in Innocence). Even Okiura followed in Oshii's footsteps in his debut with Jin-Rou. I really like to see so much consistency regarding the mechanical designs of the weapons and all the realistic fidelity in their manipulation and reaction in their use.

We have to consider the context of Innocence in its production. That movie was the last time Oshii would have a big budget ($20 million) and complete creative freedom for a movie, which Oshii knew full well and tried to make the pinnacle of his work in every way. The film was a box office flop but Oshii maintains that it was his masterpiece. Oshii was one of the main proponents of photorealism in animation and many of the staff at Innocence had been working with the director since projects like Patlabor Movie, so it's no wonder that only someone like that could assemble the most skilled staff possible for realistic animation. Since then the main staff has been divided into different productions by directors such as Satoshi Kon, Mitsuo Iso, Hideaki Anno, Hayao Miyazaki, Hiroyuki Okiura, Shinichirou Watanabe, Takashi Nakamura and Masahi Andou, but never met again (I guess because no director is looking for a such a high level of realism)

A small detail in Ghost in The Shell that you can see in the AMV is Batou puts one hand on TOP of the gun to better control going full auto. A small thing that shows the team did their research.

Damn. Innocence is still looking sick even in 2023. And I especially love Kabaneri battle scene. Cowboy bebop is giving me a huge nostalgic shiver. Old anime really age so fine now
@AnotherSakuga Жыл бұрын
It seems that Innocence was made to be the highest point that 2D animation could reach. I would like to see another Kabaneri project, since both the TV anime and the movie were very well produced
I usually watch my videos over and over again when I'm making them and based on my emotion, I'm satisfied or not with the result. In this case, that part is also my favorite, it's a strong adrenaline rush
All the names of the series are in the description, I have also added the option of subtitles in English and Japanese with the names of all the series. You can go back or forward frame by frame Frame Advance: Press the " . " Key / Rewind frame: Press the " , " key Remember, animation is not made to pause as animation is made up of the entire sequence of drawings that create the illusion of movement, so there is no point in evaluating the "quality" of animation based on an individual drawing. Even so, I highlight the option to move forward and back frame because it is always interesting to see the animator's work in each particular drawing, in addition to helping a lot to understand how his work works.

Damn, clean cuts, subtle (enough, aka doesn't distract and doesn't blow out eardrums) background music, no unnecessary intro or outro and subtitles for *two* languages stating not only the show but the animator(s) if known! This slightly over 6 minute video I just got recommended has an insanely high quality compared to most other videos on this platform that are recommended!!

In a sense, we must thank the former president of Production I.G Mitsuhisa Ishikawa very much, since he was too permissive with Oshii, gave him a lot of creative freedom in his productions and treated Oshii as one of the best elements the studio could have, in addition to the fact that It was also Ishikawa who gave Okiura the opportunity to direct Jin Rou

It's also very interesting to analyze it frame by frame Hashimoto makes quite curious smears that add too much dynamism, he represents the sensation of weight very well, not to mention the excessively detailed shading in different layers that also deform in some parts, helping a lot to make the parts of the body feel tense

On this occasion I had to sacrifice some transitions in order to put in as many quality sequences as possible without interfering or ruining the sequence itself (and even then some very good ones were left out). Just like in my Vehicle and Swordplay videos, I tried to choose animation sequences that went beyond the conventional with above-average elements. I can't single out some sequences over the rest, as most of them are impressive in every way, even so my favorite is Mitsuo Iso's sequence in Ghost in The Shell, starring a CZN-M22. Innocence is the predominant one and it was pretty obvious, after all it's the pinnacle of Japanese 2D animation and has exaggeratedly well done gun sequences. I must also highlight Mamoru Oshii, because it is because of his perfectionism and predilection for adapting reality that we can see an incredible adaptation of guns in his movies, which was also adopted by Hiroyuki Okiura during the production of Jin-Rou. * In Innocence you can see different guns, but the one that has more prominence is the IMI Galil ARM - 5.56x45mm used by Batou and the Futuristic Norinco SAS-12 used by Motoko. FN Minimi, Bushmaster Arm Pistol - 5.56x45mm NATO and Ingram MAC-10 are also used. * In Jin-Rou the guns that takes center stage is the MG42 machine gun due to the little mobility that the Protection Gear allows. Also used are MP41, Gewehrgranatengerät (mounted on a Mauser Karabiner 98K) and the Haenel MKb 42(H), which has two white stripes on the magazine to indicate that it does not use live ammunition. * Spriggan adapts the SIG-Sauer P226, Glock 17, and the GE M134 inspired by the one used in Terminator 2.

This was chock full of some of my all time favorite anime but i'm kinda sad seeing no scenes featured from some behemoths in gunplay like Black Lagoon, Jormungand, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, Hellsing, Golgo 13 or Gungrave. Maybe in some future compilation i hope. Great work nonetheless, transitions are top notch and music on point as usual.
