All the names of the series are in the description, I have also added the option of subtitles in English and Japanese with the names of all the series. You can go back or forward frame by frame Frame Advance: Press the " . " Key / Rewind frame: Press the " , " key Remember, animation is not made to pause as animation is made up of the entire sequence of drawings that create the illusion of movement, so there is no point in evaluating the "quality" of animation based on an individual drawing. Even so, I highlight the option to move forward and back frame because it is always interesting to see the animator's work in each particular drawing, in addition to helping a lot to understand how his work works.

Is it possible to single out a particular scene from one of the most talented, important and influential animators in Japanese animation? Just trying to make this video was so complicated because Utsunomiya has a ridiculously extensive amount of high-level work and reducing it to a few minutes is difficult, which is why I assigned him a 5-minute song. Probably the work of his that I like the most is the scene he did for Run Melos from 1992. From the beginning the characters make small movements that strongly reinforce the realistic sense and add a lot of personality, with notable efforts in each action and the respective impact, making the characters wobble again and again as their feet and position try to regain balance, while the clothes and hair have a strong physical response (or reactive movements) to each action. Utsunomiya worked with some really complicated perspectives, with limbs moving in and out of the foreground. This all feels realistic, but not a perfect realism, but one where small or involuntary body movements set it apart from the rest. The shading that Utsunomiya implements is one of my favorites, since in scenes like the one he did for Beyond (when the boy's nose bleeds) or in The Ghiblies he achieves a very good sense of depth that makes his adaptation of the character models stand out a lot and said shading is represented in a realistic way with the movements of the characters, becoming quite complex. In these 4 years I came to the conclusion that the flow of the video is a very essential part, because building the expectation to then fulfill it is something that generates satisfaction to see, that being said, I really ignored that during this video when adding the Magnetic Rose clip, because the flow was completely broken but I still justify myself because it is a very high quality cut and at this point I only have one more opportunity to use Magnetic Rose clips in a video.

I remembered that Star of Milos stood out a lot visually, but I didn't remember it having such incredible scenes, I wonder how Utsunomiya got there

1:10 What the hell You really did a transition from a background character to one in the center shot? At first I didn't realize it but there was a "something" that made me go back in the video to see what happened Excellent edition!

I think that even without having knowledge about animation, anyone can realize that Utsunomiya's work is something different Thanks for making this video, I related that animation approach to Tatsuyuki Tanaka, Mitsuo Iso and even Norio Matsumoto, I didn't know that Utsunomiya was the great influence for all of them

I guess it's normal, Utsunomiya doesn't seem to be very recognized in the West. I also ignored the huge impact that Utsunomiya had on the industry through Gosenzosama, so probably if I go to the description of my Tatsuyuki Tanaka video, I will make a lot of mention of Takashi Nakamura, which while it is not wrong because Nakamura was evidently a strong influence, it is notable that Utsunomiya had a much stronger impact on Tanaka and we could consider it as the basis of his style

Thank you for the amazing animation MAD! Your choice of scenes is absolutely perfect, and although I’ve seen many animation MADs featuring Utsunomiya’s work before, this one is by far the best. Reading the descriptions of your videos always amazes me with how much knowledge you have. Every video is so high-quality and truly outstanding. I’m so happy to be able to watch the works of these incredible animators in such great resolution. It seems like Utsunomiya was heavily involved in Satoshi Kon’s Dreaming Machine, but it’s such a shame that we can’t see his work from that project. Recently, we haven’t seen much of Utsunomiya’s name, but just like how Osamu Tanabe made a sudden comeback with Kaiju No. 8, I’d be thrilled if Utsunomiya returned as well. Thanks to your animation MADs, I’ve discovered amazing animators and music. I can only imagine how much time and effort it takes to create these MADs, but I’d be delighted if you could continue sharing more incredible videos with us in the future. (I used AI to translate a Japanese sentence into English, so sorry if it sounds unnatural.)
