This guide goes over the priority items in Zul'Gurub for dps casters. If you are a warlock, mage or spriest don't miss this video and start mentally preparing for what items you are coming in the game for you!

Well I mean warlocks do get some great new items for sure but with it being a short reset every classier will end up wanting the same type of items. I just highlighted who I think would get them first but it always comes down the guild master obviously.

Nat paggles broken reel is actually (as funny as it sounds) a tank trinket its absolute bis trinket for any bosses with taunt mechanics

Ya i had a few errors in the vid with that being one, I fixed my description to fix any error but you are 100% right. I forgot the taunt ability was based off magic hit so that broken reel with go all warriors first. Thanks for following up and minus a hiccup or two I hope you enjoyed the video.

Seems to me this is more like a “what items do I want as a warlock and why I should get it” guide. Should have made atleast mage prio for the enchanting dolls to make it less obvious that you play warlock. Also ring of servitude? With Band of Dark Diminion + Band of Forced concentration being bis you shoulden’t be allowed anywhere near it so you conveniantly don’t mention it.. c’mon man. Nevermind the rare rings with + hit.. if you’re so desperate for hit why not go for those? Only a little less spellpower.. Just not warlock bis right ;)

Haha Tom you make some great points. As I mentioned in the vid I might be a little bias being a warlock but you are right. There are some items that could be swapped to the mage for sure. It really comes down to how your current raid guide is set up. % hit items usually go to warlocks first just so they can catch up to the mages then it switches back prio for some of the items to the mage. I'm making a vid for the bwl prio list where mages get a lot more of the items its mainly just % hit gear and mages pretty much get the rest. I'm sorry if I was a little bias I will try to remove that from my bwl vid :)

Shame you didn’t mention the set of 2 spellhit rings (zanzin’s seal+band). Together they boost another 3% hit. Probably you’d call them warlock prio 😉 happy to say I got both on my mage yesterday 😎💪🏻

Dave you completely forgot about the blue ring set. The hit and shadow domion rings together from bwl are better but being able to get both is harder. The blue ring set gives like 3 hit and almost 20 spell damage together.

That is a great point those rings do give some nice hit and sp while waiting on the bis rings. Some would argue the hit is even more important especially for the warlocks. Great feedback!

So the #1 otem Nat Pagle's Broken Reel. I am unable to get. My guild is giving priority on that item to tanks. They said its a must have item for tanks for Naxx. I guess every tank needs oonee for some naxx boss? Is this correct? Should casters be able to roll on this?

So I corrected this in my comments bc I later found out that it’s exactly why. So tanks I believe 8 tanks need it for naxx 4 horsemen bc there taunt is a spell ability and on that fight they afford to miss once. So 8 tanks get it first before anyone

It is actually going to be Punctured Voodoo Doll & Primal Hakkari Idol required for the enchants. I had it wrong in my description just changed it but in the video should be correct.

Hahaha nice it’s a big boost for hit % so for boss fights I would pop the trinket and switch to a dps trinket right before boss pull. This will give you a much better chance to hit all spells for its duration. Make sure you swap to dps trinket after popping it and before ur in combat.

Sound is better now :p Just something to take into consideration before you give Nat Pagle's Reel to a caster. Taunt is a spell and spell hit reduces the chances to get a taunt resist. It's especially usefull on the 4 Horsemen so you don't screw the rotation and accidentaly wipe the raid. The 1min15sec cooldown makes it perfect for that fight and casters have several other very good options with MC/ZG/BWL.

I was just talking to someone in regards to that trinket. It slipped my mind that taunt was a spell so it will def been needed for warriors as well. but they wont need it right away so I would think casters can use more of it until right before phase 5 patch. But i'm glad the sound was a little better. My new mic comes in a couple days and It should help even more.

@@DaveTheGamer-detailedguides Guilds need 8 tanks with it by naxx, it definitely should go to 8 tanks before giving it to a caster. Its a 15% drop chance, it would take on average 52 gahz' ranka kills to gear all the tanks, though its a 20 man raid so 26 resets if you are doing it once every reset.

Fishboss trinket warrior prio Bloodvine googles is better than hexxer's cover for warlocks, should be mage prio for those with out mish and spriest if you still use such. Neck is useless for everyone but the priests who will be mind controlling on the instructor in naxx. CoC is equal prio for everyone Same goes for heart of hakkar Wammies is not really better than AV offhand for either warlocks or mages.

I appreciate the break down. I agree after talking more with the fishboss trinket I overlooked that t it effects taunt hit. The bloodvine googles are very nice if you engineering is only catch. The heart of hakkar I have heard most people give to their priest healers first then mages or warlocks. Tanks don't need the trinket. And I think wammie off hand is great for warlocks only bc of the hit % the damage doesn't compare unless you factor hitting more = more damage. Lots of great points I missed a few in the video and wish I could edit some of it now after talking with a lot more people but I appreciate the feedback!

Well to truly be bis u need the 300 tailoring. The 2% crit is big though even without that the bloodvine set will stay with most people for months until you get a ton of other gear to replace it. Lvling the tailoring isn’t bad idea for the mooncloth cd I just did it yesterday I’m now herb and tailoring. What professions are u?

Reel should be prio to warriors for tanking 4 horsmen in naxx (prevent taunt resist). Heart should be healers/casters prio, tanks have better trinkets options.

Two great points I have been talking with a few people on this and I think your spot on. I forgot that taunt is a spell based so it makes sense for them to get it first then casters. I thought tanks would want heart trinket to pop then switch for added def but makes sense they have other options so I guess us dps fall down the list a little on that to healers.

Who would u prio the wand to? And yes I did forget the hit rings which I put in a pop up bubble after I realized it. I would give that to warlock then mage as mage don’t need near as much hit as warlocks. Thankfully zg is a short reset so by this time most people will have all the gear and prio isn’t as much of a concern

watching your second video and there is atleast 2 critical mistakes in eahc of your videos. For example previous one about BWL caster items you said shadow sp ring has 35sp instead, it actually has 33... In this video very 1st thing you say is bloodvine set gives 2% crit bonus to set where it actually is 3%... As well as mentioning "corn" caster staff form BWL. You have place to improve

Good luck prioritizing all that BiS gear away from mages. Even with talents + enchants + bloodvine set, mages still need 4% to be hit capped, so they would obviously go for some big boy items for the remaining 4%. I agree that the rings that give 3% hit in total is probably better suited for warlocks, but the best choice for mages to get their remaining hit would imo be a combination of Cloak of Consumption, Band of concentration, Bag of Whammies, Tear and Ringo's boots (which becomes irrelevant in one more phase). Giving WL prio on anything with hit on is a bad idea, especially because they are much more likely to be threat-capped than mages because they do get at least 50% more threat (more if mages have 3-set T2).

Those are all very good points you make! It does stink as a warlock that u not only get slacking hit but also higher threat doesn't make a ton of sense but that does add to why mages should get some hit first. Thankfully ZG is a fast reset so we should all get the gear quickly minus the Tear

Even with talents+enchants+bloodvine set, Warlocks still need 12% hit rating from items, Mages should be prioritizing crit for the switch to fire builds in AQ40 and beyond. If your guild has tanks that are worth a damn, Warlocks should not be having threat issues when nearing hit cap. The rings you mention are great for a starter raid set, but not so good once you are farming MC, BWL and beyond, and like you said, Mages only need 4% more hit, so why not take those rings and leave Cloak of Consumption, Band of concentration, Bag of Whammies, Tear to the Warlocks that need it WAY more than you do?

@@Hauntedcopshop Your argument doesn't make any sense. If warlocks need hit, then they should take the two rings rather than mages, as they get 3% hit rather than 1 from Band of Concentration. You say mages should leave 4 BiS items for warlocks just because they need the hit more, guess what, dps increase per hit is only marginally better for WL than mages (like 0.1 percent or something), so saying warlocks need it more is not even true until you hit the cap for mages. There are not that many items mages could go for that gives crit over hit. Eye of the Beast over Tear? Then I would use your own argument against you and say that SP scales way better against fireball than shadow bolt, and 42SP is a lot. You also have the fact that Tear is BiS for both classes for the rest of Classic). Bag of Whammies makes sense IF the mages have a good alternative, like offhand from Nef, AV offhand or Staff of Shadow Flame. Prioritizing Cloak of Consumption to one over the other is brain dead. It's so much better for both classes than any alternative. The only point where I agree with you 100% is Bloodtinged Gloves, where mages have a decent alternative in T2 gloves, giving crit instead of hit.

Both our tanks and warlocks are constantly parsing 80+, but if they go all out, they would sometimes overtake tanks in threat. This is alliance side, meaning that warlocks already have a 30% threat reduction. Now imagine a horde warlock,,,

so Spriest give a great buff to warlocks and if u have lots of warlocks then its more than worth bringing one. In return for their hours spent to help warlocks its only fair to hook them up too. It's a game at the end of the day no need to be greedy over pixel's :)

@@DaveTheGamer-detailedguides the most effective way is to just have one priest in a shadow weaving spec. still a healer, but can put the debuff for the locks. Locks will be the better dps than mages in the long run, but sacrificing ine dps slot to a priest is just way too much damage loss.

Just as much? Mages get 8% hit alone from talents and enchants when warlocks have 0. Therefore they aren’t struggling near as much. Raids like zg reset so fast so you would help warlock week one then the mages hit cap. Not saying mages never get hit gear they just get a huge jump comparing
