Thundering and smoking away in a valley on the Mooi River, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, is a natural and unspoiled waterfall gem, the Zulu Falls. It's also known as the Middelrus Falls or the Mooi River Falls. If the conditions are right, in the very early morning just after the sun has risen, a micro-climate is created where the warm river water rises into the morning chill to create smoky clouds over the thundering falls. The moment the sun heats the air, the localised clouds of mist vanish.
