I just realized zuru uses those boxes on other products too, more specifically, fidget cubes. The only difference is the weird bits on the inside. Everything else is pretty much the same.

I honestly think specifically for the robofish, the cube packaging is really cool. Almost seems like it’s styled to look like a fishbowl, and the colors give it a nice 2000’s-y nostalgia feel too.
