Love their design philosophy. The phaser and chorus were really great. 👍

Wow - missed opportunity! Since all the pedals are touching, why didn't they electrically and audio connect them at the sides, automagically?
@BigHairyGuitars11 ай бұрын
That did not occur to me until I finished the video, but I had that same though. It would be amazing if there were little metal contacts that sent audio and power across the pedals.
@joebarkan11 ай бұрын
Yeah. I hate to say it, but I have a hard time seeing this product being successful in this ultra-competitive pedal marketplace. But, with contacts on the sides they might have found themselves a niche among guitarists who don't want to deal with all the cabling and points-of-failure. Doesn't seem like it would have too difficult to engineer that (since they were building their own unique pedals anyway).@@BigHairyGuitars

Pretty genius idea! I'm sure they will develop some cables to make this work better, considering the effort they went into designing the pedals/ pedalboard.

Agreed… it’s a straightforward fix.

These pedals sound incredible and unique boosts and filters really set the apart. I don't much care about their proprietary slide holder, but these are very cool on their own.
@BigHairyGuitars10 ай бұрын
They do work fantastically well on their own. I don't think I'm going to be running the whole board, but some of these are for sure making it to my main everyday board.
@Manley15611 ай бұрын
Really like the form factor... but then I saw the back. I figured the pedals had some integrated power supply or something in the board that would do that

With the appropriate cables used I wouldn't be worried too much about the cables in the back. Maybe Baskim comes up with some low profile cables pre-made in length for the respective configurations on the pedalboard. If I would invest into this, I would probably put a clean cable harness bound with lacing tape on the back. This would fit the aircraft grade build quality, adding an aircraft grade cable harness.

Great demo Michael . Been eyeballing these for a while now. The flagship Zuta head is brutal!! Dream head for sure.

At first, it looks like a great idea as a paddleboard but let’s remember that pedalboards are about managing the wiring and the petals. Arranging placements of the individual pedals is relatively easy ,managing all the wiring that goes between them is a little bit more involved and what makes it all come together… Keep on rocking.

The locking channel needs a complimentary structure that secures power supplies, accommodates expression pedals, and enables cable management.

I do love modular stuff though. They've tried things like this over the years ...they just never sell. I think Korg had it right with their Nintendo cartridge thing in the 80's. Those were cool.

Cable management is a mess! For that much money I'd expect a LOT more for thought on that.

I'm told that there something coming that may address the cable management. I'll check it out at NAMM and see.

To be fair you could wire it nicer with much shorter cables, but for a demo this was perfect… it could use some work on the cable managment front…

@@grtxyz4358 100% If I had settled on a pedalboard setup, I cut custom cut the cables and it would be MUCH cleaner.

A great idea that needs some refinement to become a winner. At time it sounded as if things were connecting properly, or the levels were peaking, which led to the pedals sounding rather mediocre.

I did a spit-take when you said " it's really sleek....until you wire it up", then slowly reveal the spaghetti 😂.

cool, but cabling them, big big no no, not like that, that is design flaw if anything. At least there should have been room under pedals to hide the cables somewhere, or behind the board, and cover for that. Never have any cables hanging over pedalboard, they just get stuck with everything.

hmm. well. nice idea. not the first company wich forces you too use only their pedals to use their smart new board format. but still having to plug the power in? still using patchcables? why not use a propietary connector on the sides? so no. Lame.

Poor design for sure, buttons look really close together too. Could be hard to not hit two pedals at once.
