In my days at the musicology department in the university, I hired a Neupert instrument that sounded like this one in your vinyl record. I used to play on it while my cockatoo sat on my shoulder (I had also two dogs and one cat at the time :) ). Only some years later, I bought an historic copy which sounded marvelous. However, now, when I'm old, and after playing all kinds of keyboards, I came to the conclusion that it is not really important on which instrument you play (authentic or not) - it is the personal interpretation that move from your mind and heart towards the tips of your fingers, that really counts (of-course, taking into consideration the authentic intentions of the composer and his era). I find now that the Neupert has its charm, even not historically authentic. Thanks so much for this interesting and nostalgic upload.

Thank you for sharing your memories and thoughts about this :-) even though I prefer the sound of a good historical instrument, there is certainly some charm in those Neupert sounds! I guess, that in a way, they are historical in their own right by now.. Yesterday I saw a man walking in the street with an owl on his shoulder 🦉

@@theclavierist you should have photo this man :) I'm glad there are more 'nuts' like I used to be. You are right about the Neupert being in a way historical by now. By the way, their sound fits perfectly the early video games my children used to play when being young. I also prefer the sound of a good historical instrument, and the fingers' touch on the keys.
