A short review of Zvezda's, 1/35 scale, German Sniper Team figure kit, No. 3595, released in 2006.
This easy to assemble model, contains parts for 4 figures; 2 snipers with K98k rifles, and 2 observers, with mp40 submachine guns. Also included are various accessories, including a "Snipers Shield". Basic assembly and painting instructions are included.
Nice WW2 diorama accessory or subject.

Hi! Thanks for the review on this kit. I ordered it, still waiting for the dealer to have it in Stock. Anyway, I couldn't see no periscope on the sprew parts, is there one with the kit? The illustration on the back of the box shows indeed one of the observers (figure 4 on the instructions sheet) with something, which is probably the periscope, but I'm not really sure, as it looks a bit different from the illustration on the front of the box. Thanks again!

Hi, yes, there is a periscope in the kit, and you are right, what's shown on the box top is different to what's on the back of the box, doesn't quite look like the box art shows, and I must admit, had to look closely myself a couple of times when I got the kit, to identify it. Check out the Accessory Sprue around the 9:20 mark in the video, very bottom right. That's it. These periscopes were just simple tubes with lenses, designed to be easily carried, and not too bulky, that the troops added camo cloth or foliage to for disguise. Hope this helps. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. Cheers mate!

@@PetesKits Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. Guess I might try to modify it with some camo cloth, and/or foliage, so it may look a bit more like the one on the box art :) Just found your channel today, and after this one I've already watched a few more of your great reviews. Just subscribed. See you're from down under (I'm close to your antipodes; actually NZ is our antipodes), beautiful country you have down there (visited once almost 30 years ago). I know a lot has changed in the meantime, but still a nice place, with some amazing landscape ;) Cheers mate!

@@bluelight3183 Easiest way. Throw a bit of camo on the periscope and the operators' and snipers' helmets,. Then it all matches. Must admit, even in this current Pandemic world, Oz is still "the lucky country" when it comes to amazing places. Cheers!

@@PetesKits Thanks again! Guess I'll do that. I intend to use these guys on a relatively large dio I'm working on, about the 3rd Battle of Cassino, depicting a small part of one street on the village itself (where there will be a Stug IV and the tanker's crew), and then the hills and the ruins of the Monastery on the top. Not sure yet where these guys will be placed, as I'm including a 88mm Flak inside the ruins, so maybe somewhere outside. Originally only the Stug IV and crew + a few soldiers (both Paratroopers and Wehrmacht, an officer and a motorcycle dispatch rider delivering him a "letter") + some Italeri ruins, were supposed to fill the dio, but then after making the hills, I realized it would be too empty with just these guys, so I'm including some more weaponry (the 88mm Flak + a 7.5cm A-T cannon) + that old German Field Kitchen... and a lot more personnel... :) Actually it will be a large dio composed of a few small areas of interest. It will take time to finish this project (still waiting for some of the kits/soldiers to be available from my dealers) ... But I'm enjoying it ;) Cheers!

@@bluelight3183 That sounds brilliant. A lot of work, but brilliant. And how long a model or diorama takes to finish shouldn't matter, so long as you're enjoying the challenge, because that's why we got into modelling in the first place. For the fun, not to count rivets. Maybe post some photos or vids on KZbin. Diorama builds' are always interesting subjects for modellers. Great stuff! Cheers mate!
