@@PetesKits No problem, I wasn't being picky but I know how important accuracy is to modellers! Although production of the No.4 started in late 1941 it never got to N Africa, Tunisia or the Far East although there are photo's that show it late in the Italian and Burma campaigns in 1945. The No.4 equipped all the commonwealth forces in NW Europe from June 1944 where it was standard, and remained so until replaced by the FN FAL in 1957.

@PetesKits3 күн бұрын
Hi mate, As far as buildability, they're Tamiya kits, and there's never a problem there, and will go together just like this Marder II. As far as the actual variants, the Marder III was just an improvement, the early models, had the Soviet 7.62cm gun, stuck on top of the hull, and the later M's had the Pak 40, mounted in a proper superstructure towards the rear. I've recently picked up a Tamiya Marder III early type, and hope to have a review of it out shortly. Hope this answers your question (a little bit at least). Cheers!

@PetesKits yes thanks Pete,I think the marder 111 was built on a panzer 3 chassis so maybe a little bit bigger,but I'm not to sure about that but have done a cracking job on the marder 11 kit Pete.

@@Kitsnbits Thanks mate, Glad you liked the build. I really liked the way she came out. Hi Pete. Thanks for the review. I have some resin CMK 1/72 EMC mines (24AUD!!!) as I have the Revell S-100 in this scale. (Which is a nice kit). Also some Art Wox wooden decking. The 1/35 Italeri S-boot looks great but it is very large! (and not cheap!). Their latest re-issue comes with mines which is nice. (350AUD!!) The numbers go on the mines as per the box artwork 🙂. Production numbers ? I imagine they would wear/wash off in the ocean pretty quickly. Cheers Matt.

Hi Matt. These mines are an unusual subject, which is why I like them. I actually missed out on a 1/35 scale italeri S-100 a couple of months ago on Ebay. And it was cheap too, only $50 starting bid. But, at around a metre in length, and no where to put it, I hesitated too long, and it went off real quick. Can't remember how much she went for, but it was definitely a bargain. Hi Pete, one year on from my last comment and I have finally started to assemble these figures. I was wondering if you had found time to assemble these yourself yet? There are two things that I have noticed about the kit that you didn't bring up in your review. The first is that this kit, unlike a lot of other Tamiya German figure kits, doesn't come with helmet decals, the other thing is that the helmets themselves seem to be really oversize for the figures, an image of Rick Moranis in the Spaceballs movie springs to mind each time I look at them. I haven't glued them on yet but I'm seriously thinking about looking through the spares box for replacements.
@PetesKits12 күн бұрын
Hi Martin. Must admit I haven't given these a good look at, since I did the review (and that was 3 years ago. My God, has it been that long??), but, I have made myself promise, for every vehicle I do, I have to do a figure set too, from now on. So maybe these will finally see the light of day (and some glue and paint). These guys are wearing Mid to Late war uniforms etc, (1943 on), and by this time, at least at the front, helmet decals have seen their day. Although I have seen late war film of helmets with decals, these are usually re-issued early helmets, for Volksturm units etc. As for the size of the helmets in this kit, I never noticed it, but, now that you've mentioned it, even in the pics of the actual figures on the back, they do look a tad "Spacebally". Great pick up mate. Might check it all out in the morning (it's 11pm our time). Cheers Mate!
@martinoconnor431412 күн бұрын
@@PetesKits Good point about the mid war uniforms, that never occurred to me. I have so far managed to find four replacement helmets which really alter the look of the figures, the kit helmets are way too big to be useable without looking silly. Cheers Pete.

@@GorillaCrewWarGaming That'd be great is you could. Save a lot of fiddling around. I'm the same as you. I have a box of spare parts, and bits and pieces, from all sorts of kits hanging around. Never know when something might come in handy!

@@PetesKits Exactly. I may take this kit and fabricate a floor jack and a couple jack stands and make a "maintenance" display with the armed figures spread out in a security formation type arrangement. Maybe even put a shjtload of bullet holes in the armor with a hot needle.... 🤣

Thanks, glad you liked the review. I actually managed to pick up 2 of these original Carrier kits, from 2 different private sellers, for the same price, so really happy with that score. Cheers!
