Thank you for this video. Just got the 2600MCDuo and was absolutely losing my mind on how to attach it to the filter wheel. Interestingly enough not a lot of data out there that you have to connect the 2600 this way or how to do it

Thanks Sasha for this video (and the rest of them as well). I wonder if it not be better to put it in the “upper” position to avoid any conflict with the space to your dovetail. I see you have the focuser partially extended but if you need to use a different focus it could be a poblem. By the way, is there any problem in putting the wheel in the UP position? Thank you again

At a ZWO camera there is no up or down - just put it on one way and then turn it at the scope the way you like. And yes. I also have the EFW looking upwards on the rig.

Question: How is the filter wheel controlled? I’m guessing a ZWO hand controller. Could I use ASIStudio or Fire Capture or Sharp Cap? I do planetary

Thanks Sascha for your wonderful videos. I'm wondering why did you remove the tilter, why not screw the filter wheel directly on to the tilt plate. ZWO support says remove the tilt plate whereas on their website there is an installation option directly on to tilter.

It might be feasible somehow, but your can anyway not access the tilter anymore when attaching it to the filter wheel so what's the point....I thought there is also an option to attach the tilter to the other side of the filter wheel which might make more sense.

@@viewintospace The new M54 tilter is accessible from the camera side. My MC2600 Duo does have some tilt issues. But due to my lack of knowledge, I accepted it. If you make a video on tilt adjustment using ASI Air that will be really helpful.

many thanks! One question please: you mentioned that you don't have to retake flats if you have rotated the filter wheel/camera unit, which surprised me. What happens if you have dust at some other point in the chain, eg on either end of the scope glass, this will be in a different position on the camera frame if you have rotated it, so I presumed you would need new flats? thank you!

The dust on your scope glass is too far away of your sensor and will not create any spots or doughnuts. All that is relevant is the dust on your sensor glass and your filters.

I would simple order the filter wheel, look at the options and then if needed order the correct adapter to connect it over the T2 thread of the camera

Hi Sascha! I don't have that particular filter wheel but, AFAIK, there is a "darkening ring" to stop light issues occurring in the gap between the camera and the filter wheel when installed with those 4 screws. It should be included by default in the packaging, but I'm not sure. In many cases, it is a real issue if not addressed.

At $400, I'll pass for now. However calibrating out dust is a pain. The other issue for me, is having multiple kits. I have 2 or 3 permanent setups. The expense of filters and the FW.

If you are so concerned about dirt on the filters (and, I totally agree, you should!), why didn't you install the filters *after* attaching it to the camera, instead of before? Seeing you using your screwdriver so close to the exposed filters twice in the process made me feel worried for you...
