You should check out the native 40 fps mode! It’s super useful for games that hover between 40-50fps without tearing/stuttering. It’s smoother than 30fps by a good margin. Would love to see you try out more titles with the Deck!

hey man, nice demonstration of the Deck! just to point something out: the anti-cheat issues is not a Deck problem, or even a Linux problem, who should actually work on fixing it are the game companies. most anti-cheats already offer Linux support, the companies just don't wanna have the trouble of setting it up, which is a shame.

720p because of your capture card have 16:9, and there is no 120fps lock in quick settings by default, I have 800p option in every game. just try this without a video recording. Or you can put in deck settings-display 1280x800 by default while you are using capture card.

If you notice the Anti cheat being used by many of these games is the same one Apex Legends uses which works fine the issue is the developers have to allow the game to run on Linux and many haven't either due to fear of people being able to get around things put in place to stop hacking or because they just haven't worked in the ecosystem that is Linux.

Anti-cheats being incompatible with emulated Windows games on MacOS and Linux is a known and discussed issue, I wonder when it will be fixed.

Propably never, there are not much people playing multiplayer games on linux for devs to actually care. Most people that use steam deck propably play singleplayer games not multiplayer, but that's what i think and it can be not true. But still theres more players on windows and compienies when they don't see any big profits with fixing anticheats the propably just won't fix it.

When testing Steam Deck, you should point out which games run native Linux clients vs. running through Proton.

Its usually much better than on pc because it's better optimised and if the game releases on console it is almost 100% sure thing that this is going to be playable. On pc on the other hand even your pc meets minimum requirments it's not guaranteed that the game is going to be playable, even if you meet recommendet specs theres is a chance that the game is going to be unplayable (jedi survivor is known for that). And that's what this channel is about, showcasing how good are new games optimisation and he shows how some gpu's run this games because he wants to show what peformance you can expect if you own this gpu

But i agree if you don't have much money it's better to buy console because it's going to perform better, but if you have lots of money and you wan't most fps possible in every game then it's better buying a pc. But for around $500 in my opinion it's better to buy ps5 or xbox series x and i say this as pc player. Only advantage of pc is that you can do many other things on pc than on console for example emulate older games or search internet(i heard that ps5 doesn't have internet browser, propably because every exploit that exist on ps3 and ps4 uses browser).

Great, Krizzp, is good to see you testing some games on the Deck, it has great power for good value, but I think for people are thinking buy it consider a lot the new ROG Ally, because it costs 700 dols and comes with new Z1 Extreme, that is VERY more powerful than the Deck, and it can impressively run GOW 3 from PS3 and RDR1 from X360 with no problems! We are living a dream, man!

2 major reasons it works so well: Linux OS rather than Windows & 720 rather than 1080. Steam spent a lot of time and effort on the deck and it really shows. Not sure they're making any money on the hardware.

Honestly as someone who owned a steam deck the only way to fully enjoy it right now is to put Windows on it. Its not as nice and seamless as steam OS but with windows at least you'll be able to play any game you want.

i think it's important to remember that if you are not on the go and it's playing with the charger connected you can increase the tdp for better performance (in gta v for example) i think you can also do it on the go but then the battery life will be really bad so is not ideal

I do have my Steam Deck, Destiny 2 has noted that they didn't want to Support the Steam Deck. There are even some games I play that are unsupported due to anti Cheat. I have the 64gb model and intend on expanding it to 2tb in the future

You should do a video on the input lag on the Steam Deck. It's one of my biggest gripes with it. For example if you press the a button to jump, it'll take a while for your charater to actually jump on screen.

I wonder how it compares with windows. I only have a 128gb hard drive in mine so I haven't tried yet. I use game streaming alot; I've used it with a 3090 and a 6800xt, and it works great. You just have to turn off hardware decoding in the settings or the video will stutter.
