Most of the people in this hobby are obsessed with the high end stuff but in a way I find it even more impressive what you can do on a strict budget.. managing to put together a system of used hardware that still kicks ass and can play some intense games competently. I built a PC for my friend with used parts and its so satisfying watching as he's playing Gotham Knights right now and the hardware is still killing it.

While I don’t use old stuff for modern gaming I still enjoy this channel because I’m always into learning more about computer hardware and I’ve often used what I’ve learned from this channel when people have asked me about their older hardware and if it’s worth getting a certain used graphics card and such. Not everyone is going to have the latest hardware and I always like to help out people on forums that have older stuff to be able to enjoy newer games without just telling them to spend 2000 bucks on a new PC.

It's really good that you watch this kind of stuff too. More PC gamers should be aware of what actually is capable at the lower end. I see lots of cases on like Reddit, where someone will be trying to buy a used CPU from a couple generations ago and people will tell them it's going to be garbage now. But it's just not true lol, I still have a 10th gen i5 and haven't found a game yet that it can't play well. Always annoying to see bad information out there.

I wish locking framerates to smooth out frametimes was more common knowledge. It's one of the only things you can do to help a cpu bottleneck and it can even help a gpu bottleneck in some games and some situations like thermal throttling. Definitely something I wish I knew when I was using a pentium g4400.

I think these requirements would be better suited: Minimum: i5 4670, GTX 960 4GB or equivelant, 12GB RAM Recommended: i7 6700, GTX 1060 6GB or equivelant, 16GB RAM It would be interresting to see if Frame Generation could games make playable with old CPU´s like i5 2-4th Gen, maybe something for a Video?

@@steph_on_yt Yeah, plus like upscaling while it may not be very noticiable at 4K it makes image quality much worse at lower Resolution & Detail settings. While using Frame Generation may not be considered as bad for some as lowering the resolution either way for others more fps is not the be all of Better Gaming because Image Quality is more important and makes gaming better than an fps boost.

I had the i5-4670k for a good few years, only replacing it with a new PC last year. It still blows me away at just how much of a workhorse that CPU is, whatever it cant handle with features it just powers through with pure brute force. Like fine, its pegged at nearly 100% here but for a CPU that old to still be able to handle a relatively brand new game still impresses me

Instead of using RTSS you should cap using the in game half refresh rate vsync or at a driver level as RTSS almost always reports a "smooth" frame time graph but if you lock it like i mentioned you'll see the real frame times(although most games have a broken half refresh rate vsync but this one has a proper one )

Always remember that one needs to stay possibly in between minimum to recommended settings of specs. If by any means you happen to have more than that, then you're good to go. You can also think of an upcoming GTA VI in a similar way, no need for some people to be panicking for no reason as there is always an option for medium or low graphic settings

I think the real recomended cpu should be an i7 4790k that has hyperthreading 4 cores 8 threads. The i5 4670 is 4 core 4 threads and should work alot better if you set the crowd density to low since 4 cores cant even handle medium crowd density. I had the i5 4460 in my previous build with a gtx 970 and had to set everything to medium, crowd density to low and then lock it at 30 fps to avoid crashing that was caused by heavy frame drops when the cpu couldnt load the city fast enough.

My old i5 7500 was handling this game perfectly with OC'ed 1060 6GB smoothly eventho it's a 4C/4T CPU (multiple videos and livestream records can be seen in my channel) 60-75 FPS+ while swinging in the city almost every time. I think 4th gen is losing due to low speed DDR3 RAM and lower IPC

I have an i5 4440 +gtx 1060 the best thing to do in this game is to lock the fps at 40fps, if you have a 120hz monitor it's just perfect!
