If you temp gauge starts bouncing and never can give a steady reading, also gurgging expansion tank overflowing. Good indicator of head problem hopefully its a stuck thermostat tho!

B model ZX9 “s are well known for head gasket failure causing coolant and overheating problems. Best to replace it if you haven’t already done so.

Yeah iv heard the same thing.. I'm having a head worked on right now. Iv ported and polished it so once that gets back I'll go ahead and swap everything at once.

Thanks for the great videos mate. VERY nice bunch of bike you have. Have you ever changed a cam chain in a P version in the frame? Im very interested to find out because I have a zx7r P2 I am restoring. I've just changed the gearbox and not wanting to use my budget up on junk, refitted the engine to test it. Now I will spend more on the motor and need to know if its back to dropping the motor out to fit the chain? Again, super desirable collection of bikes you have, cherish them and enjoy riding them.

Thank you! Very much, I do believe you can swap the chain out with the motor in the frame but it would be easiest just to pull the engine again just to make sure you get the engine in time

Hey man, I have a question, Did you swap the whole front end over to ZX-10 parts because I want to do the same thing for better forks and brakes. Mines a 2002 ZX-6R. If I get the wheel, axle, forks, brakes, headstock/ triple clamps and stem etc. Is it likely that the stem will be too long/ short and not fit without custom work? Would I also need the handlebars..?
@sunsetsportbikes94353 жыл бұрын
No not the entire front end. 90% though. All zx10r parts were used except the triple clamp. Shims were used for the top clamp and clip on bars and the bottom clamp had to be machined open 2mm to fit the zx10r forks. On the zx7r though you just need shims. Basically if you want to do that you just need to find the measurements of your forks compared to the zx10r forks

Babbits.com has a great parts catalog. You can go on there. Put in your year make and model and scroll through every part on that motorcycle
