Dear Jay Singh, Thank you for your effort that you have taken through out the series and you are really appreciated for what you are. I have newly implemented a SCCM Current branch server and all my clients have been pushed with SCCM Client as well. But, recently my SCCM management software got updated from the console since then, not a single client on my LAN are seemingly updating with any settings which i made on SCCM, even after the settings were pulled in order to have a quick update from the clients by accessing Config Manager on Control Panel. But the good thing is i can see all my clients are active & green and those could even be accessed & controlled via remote control & and all the available options like that as well. Could you please assist me with what troubleshooting methods should i have to follow in order to get it done. I have made some settings such as Organization name displayed in Software Center and 7-Zip application deployment as well but nothing were updated on software center when i open it from the client side. Any assistance from your end would be highly appreciated. Thank you

Hello, Can you suggest me some KB Articles at least that i can make use of it in order to get this issue fixed? I have been investigating the cause of this problem for the last few days but no luck so far. Reinstating all the clients (210 Pcs) and SCCM Server by uninstalling and then revert them back with a fresh installation sound pretty much awkward for now. I would be much grateful if you could assist me in this regard. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Shakkir, I have not experienced anything like this. You can perform a few actions to find the root cause: 1. Check the ConfigMgr client version on the devices (Has it got updated on the devices) 2. Check the client logs. This will inform you why it is failing to receive the updated policies/changes. Here is MS Doc about client logs docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/hierarchy/log-files#BKMK_ClientLogs. 3. Check the Deployment Status of the new up-to-date ConfigMgr Client. Here Software Library > Application Management > Packages. 4. Check the Site and Component Status. Here Monitoring > System Status

With given directives & points i have gone through all the steps then i could see something disruptive on System Status under Site Status as " The Management Point Status is Critical & Zero bytes. I hope this can be the root cause of the problem that I have. Now how can i resolve this issue?. Uninstall and reinstall the MP role would really fix this issue without having affected to any other dependencies of SCCM ?

@@shakkirkadannamanna1088 That is good. Now you know the problem. I would suggest you to dig deeper log files related to the MP. Check the MP log files docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/hierarchy/log-files#BKMK_MPLog. Most omportant would be MPControl log file.

Thanks to you I was able to successfully deploy this powerful tool and make it operational. havening said that I like to trouble you for one more Question, That is how do we install .exe files where there are no .msi files. eg. Audacity hasn't got .msi but everyone uses it in an enterprise network.

You are welcome. I am glad you find these videos helpful. For exe, you would deploy with the script installer option instead of msi at 2:08. Deploying exe is always challenging as it depends on the developer how well they have bundled exe file. Exe files will have switches, which will be used for silent installations and uninstallations. Uninstalling and detecting the installed application is also another hurdle one would go through with the exe.

I still get this(When i click on install): The software change returned error code 0x87D00607(-2016410105). I have know idea where it gonig wrong Update: To fix SCCM Application Installation error 0x87D00607 follow the below steps. Launch the ConfigMgr Console. Navigate to Administration\Overview\Hierarchy Configuration\Boundary Groups. Right-click the boundary group and select References tab. Under Site assignment, select Use this boundary group for site assignment. Under the Site system servers, click Add and add the site server. Click on Apply and OK. Your application deployment should work fine now.

Okay that would be the detection method and uninstallation command. Check Appenforce log on the client to get the clear picture what is happening. Also, you can check the detection and uninstallation method on your app.

Hi TekNex Solution, I initially distributed content (7-ZIP) successfully and content status showed that it failed with this error: The source directory "\\lablearn-DC01\Applications\7ZIP\" for package "TK300007" does not exist. Solution: Make sure you have specified a valid package source directory on the Data Source tab in the Package Properties dialog box in the Configuration Manager Console. If you specify a local path, it must be a local path on the site server. If you specify a path on a network drive, verify that the path exists and that the path is typed correctly I verified and the network path was correct I attempted to distribute content again and the Distribute Content wizard is not pulling in or recognizing my distribution point when I select "Add Distribution Point. How do I fix it? Kindly assist. Thanks

Very good question. It depends on type and behavior of the application. Some applications support just a small patch to add new features. It is totally depends on the application developer how they develop application and the further updates. Deploying these updates is a challenging task as an administrator. I have seen applications where you push the new update, it keeps the older version and installs new version on top. In this case, end users will have two different versions of the same app. So you have to check and plan your updates accordingly. Some app developers develop applications smartly, where it uninstalls older version and installs new application and keeps user settings as well.

Followed the instructions while creating the shared drive, but now while creating a folder for a application. It is throwing error that i dont have access. (Logged in to scck server as "SCCM" user) It worked When I manually give full permission to SCCM user to that folder manually.

Thanks, man, we really appreciate all your efforts. I was in the last of deployment and the error came as such, the content status was in Progress and then failed with this message: Distribution Manager failed to connect to the distribution point ["Display=\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=DC1"]\\\. Check your network and firewall settings. I disabled both my firewall for the sccm server and the client machine but the same results ensued. It also happens when I attempt to push patches to the clients. Please advise!

Did you manage to fix this? You need to check info in the System Management container in your AD. Check the info there and see what it says.

I have not uninstalled Bonjour. More than happy to check it for you. Do you know what version is installed? I just downloaded Bonjour from this link support.apple.com/kb/DL999?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US and opened exe with 7 zip. It includes msi files and one of the msi can be used to uninstall. Also, even you do "BonjourPSSetup.exe ?" in PowerShell. This will display the available switches as well.

Okay, I have just tested it. I installed Bonjour on a device. Then I created a Bonjour application (Bonjour64.msi) in ConfigMgr and deployed as uninstall. Make sure the product code matches with the installed product on the device and the created application.
