One rare phone with dual aperture (2 aperture settings isn't much, but it's better than nothing): Samsung Note 10+ You can actually see the aperture change, looking into the lens. The settings are F2.4 and F1.5 (wide open) A rarety among phone cameras. Unfortunately Samsung Removed it the next year with Note 20 Ultra and it has never returned 😕

As always thank you so much for this video! I just purchased the Zhiyun Smooth 5 for my S22 Ultra and have been trouble with both the Zy-Cam and Stacam app. I am going to uninstall both of these and use Filmic Pro and the phone camera. Thank you again!

I’m having one query here that I haven’t figured out yet. I want to make all my videos by keeping the mobile in portrait mode. I can do that by triple tapping the back button. But whenever I click in Smart tab in the ZY cami app, the gimbal puts the mobile back into landscape mode which I don’t like. Is it possible to use all the smart features in portrait mode? Also, I do not see any option to do it using joystick. It only allows me to rotate the gimbal, not the mobile (like a wheel).

Hi I’m having trouble connecting my external microphone (rode wireless go ii) to the ZY CAMi app. It won’t let me click on “external” (mic source) even tho the option is there. I’m connecting the rode wireless go receiver to my iPhone via usb-c to lighting connection. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Do you know if the rode wireless go ii is compatible with the zy cami app?

Can someone help please. I have a Samsung A12 on a zhiyung Q3 gimbal, and every time I press the settings button (3 dots) on the ZY Cami app, the app freezes and I need to restart. I cannot do settings in the app because of this. Can someone give me some advice please. Thanks Bret

Just got my Q3 today and luv the Dolly Zoom and one of main reasons I upgraded from my ol original Smooth Q. I just downloaded this app (2 star rating I see now, so many users don’t like at all) and it wants a lot of personal info and you can’t access any of the special features without the app. The whole experience feels shady. I watched so many SmoothQ3 videos before purchasing and only heard good things but the App reviews only bad (I know you said you didn’t use the app, only for this tutorial). How can we create the Dolly Zoom w just our iPhone and as you mentioned pls? Luv

Hi, is the DJI 4 less invasive? I really despise that these new hardware companies ask for so much information just to use an App. I don't trust what they do with it and don't really see the need to hand over personal information to use a simple app. I'm still trying to decide which device to buy the Q3 or DJI4?

Hi there thanks for the review. From the video I heard that you've said you will off HDR in your iPhone while shooting. Why is this so? From what I know that HDR gives you better image quality, however when you export in the Adobe timeline it will overblown the footage as it is too bright and we will need to set to rec 709 which is SDR somehow, which defeats the purpose of recording in HDR. Am I correct? Thanks as I am new in smartphones filmmaking

doesn't matter to be honest. you will probably have the best effect with the "lock" mode

I just got my gimbal zhiyun q3 but the screw to lock the arm doesn't seem to work at all is that normal? I mean the screw doesn't seem to have any purpose, i tighten it but the arm is still free to move when pushed a little

you have to extend the arm as far as possible - then you lock the screw - then it should not move at all

My question is can I register or sign up without pairing the gimbal device. If it yes then the problem is it's not letting me do register my information as a sign up user. When I try to sign up after putting my email address they are sending me a digit verification code to my email address after that when I'm going to set up my password it's not letting me to register my password. Can you tell me what is the problem. For your information I haven't pair my gimbal with the phone yet.

Just want to point out you said you dont use the zoom button because your crappy iphone only has digital zoom, on the s21 and s22 ultra phones the 5x optical zoom is amazing with the button function so dont write off a function in a video just because youre not using the best mobile phone for film making 👌
