I had around 15 potted plants and got stuck during lockdown away from home. I left them on 19th March 2020 ( was supposed to return in 3 days) and came back home on 5th June 2020. And the only plant that survived peak Indian summer, WITHOUT WATER for almost 3 months was zz plant!!!!!!! And it's still thriving. Have 4 more pots from cuttings.

This video is such a joy, thank you! I own 2 Raven ZZ plants and love learning all I can about it. Also you wouldn't want your ZZ to flower since it indicates stress and in turn produces a flower to survive and spread it's seeds because it feels it could be dying.

Hi Ann. I love watching your series. Your love for plants just shines through! This video came right in time for me. Many leaves of one of the petioles had turned yellow. I suspect it was being over watered. I moved it to a different location recently to keep a better eye. Your video validated my thoughts .Thank you and keep up the wonderful work.:-)

My experience with ZZ - I kept it in a low light area indoors and it was just about alive - no new sprouts, no lengthening of the branches - it mostly stayed as is. I then moved it to a well lit area of my room that receives afternoon/evening sunlight, a few feet away from my large window. After a few weeks, it started gives new sprouting (neon green and very beautiful) and now has a small bud as well (i am told it is extremely rare for an indoor ZZ, lucky me) !! I am waiting for the bud to bloom - seems white in colour, spathe-type (similar to peace lily buds) . I water it only once in 2 weeks.

In between during the lock down I was stuck at a different place due to which I couldnt water the plant for 2months. The plant survived. But the difference i could see is that the leaves have turned too much dark.. almost like black whn seen in low sunlight. Also it seems like lost its glossiness. Is this normal?

8:30 One of the biggest problems I face with my indoor plants when I occasionally keep them outside to sunbath is the same. Some people water it every day thinking they're helping me.
