One of the all-time great music videos...and the girls are actual Playboy Playmates! The car was featured in all of the videos they did from the Eliminator album, and the car actually became known as "The Eliminator". Billy Gibbons (guitar/lead vocal), Dusty Hill (bass/backing vocal) and Frank Beard (drums and the only one WITHOUT a beard)...That Little Band From Texas...these guys are gods down here in my home state!

First ever live concert I went was ZZ Top in Oulunkylä, Helsinki in 1991. My father took me there, I was 15. Last ever live concert my dad went was ZZ Top in Hartwall Arena, Helsinki in 2019. I took him there. I love these bearded guys and their "Little Ol' Band from Texas" Oh!! I think the ZZ car was featured mainly in relation to one album (Eliminator). All of the hits from that album - like Sharp Dressed Man - have the same theme of the car, the keys, the three women, etc.

one song in particular of theirs is TV Dinners, a silly song and music video from the Afterburner album. the car that appears in these videos is named Eliminator, and then in Afterburner, they turned it into a space shuttle.

This was from ZZ Top's more commercial phase. Though they had hits before this the earlier stuff had more of a straight up blues feel while the Eliminator stuff was more pop-rock, with some tasty stuff thrown in by the Honorable Reverend Gibbons of course.

ONE ASPECT of ZZ TOP's music is MISSISSIPPI DELTA BLUES. That genre of music is unique to the deep south. It takes every day mundane events and converts them to blues. A perfect example is BLUE GENE BLUES. Billy's guitar work is probably one of his very best. You have not done them justice until you react to that.

You should check out some of their older work. They had quite a different sound in the 70s. WAITING FOR THE BUS/JESUS JUST LEFT CHICAGO.....TUSH....JUST GOT PAID. This will show you their bluesy Texan sound. I've seen them live just a few years ago and they still had all the moves and were so entertaining.
