I'm a Baby Boomer who just discovered your channel not long ago. I love your chemistry and your reactions to various songs you're hearing for the first time. It's nice to see another generation discovering music I enjoyed as a kid!........An interesting little fact about this song "Stayin' Alive" is the beat, which you mentioned you both liked. This song is one of several songs that people will listen when practicing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). A study was completed that confirmed that medical students and physicians who were trained to do chest compressions, while listening to the song, would maintain the ideal rhythm of 100-120 compressions per minute. Using the "beat" of this song to do CPR chest compressions could in fact help someone to stay alive!

The Bee Gees actually sang these very close to the recordings live. No autotune .. but if you move to Sweden and listen to the early recordings of Abba (late 70'ies) Their sound with Agneta and Annifrid were not quite as easy to do live, as they were recorded (no protools here) to tape, and the tape were speed ed slightly up to create that unique Abba sound, so it wouldn't surprice me if the Bee Gees used the same tricks in the Studio, but it isn't very many people that can sing this clean in falseto for a whole song. think of doing that thru a full Live show all night ..
@theedgeinshow4 жыл бұрын
Just a small fact: this song has saved more lives than any other song in history. The BPM of this song is the perfect tempo to perform CPR. Not only is the timing perfect, but since EVERYONE knows this song in one way or another, it can help keep you calm by focusing on the song. This song can literally keep you staying alive. Also, please take a CPR training course. It's usually free and it only takes a few hours.

Stayin' Alive" was used in a study to train medical professionals to provide the correct number of chest compressions per minute while performing CPR. The song has around 103 beats per minute, and 100-120 chest compressions per minute are recommended by the British Heart Foundation[17][18] and endorsed by the Resuscitation Council (UK).[19] A study on medical professionals found that the quality of CPR is better when thinking of the song "Stayin' Alive"
