These were the top bands in the late 70s and 80s (in my opinion, in no particular order): ZZ Top, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, Billy Squier, and Foreigner. There were also lots of bands with one or two hits, like Tommy Tutone, The Motels, The Ramones, J. Geils Band, and Men At Work.

Anything they did in the 80s was commercial.... yeah, they sold themselves out and also became parodies of themselves with the long beards sunglasses and the fuzzy guitars that spun around. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy ZZ Top in the 80s and 90s however in the 70s is when they were bluesy and really rocked hard and kicked ass.

Love me some ZZ Top. Could you react to Jeff Healey and Stevie Ray Vaughan " look at little sister ". Jeff was blind who taught himself how to play guitar. He was the most underrated, most talented guitarist and he was a genius!! Sadly, He passed away in 2008 of cancer. RIP Jeff!!
