@@lq5028 But seriously though, JESUS IS Coming back....and that day draws nearer every day. On a day in the not distant future (I truly believe) Jesus will step into the clouds above this planet that He created, and call every Christian on this dying world to Instantly be with Him forever in the heavens. All in the blink of an eye, E.v.e.r.y. Believer will disappear. One will be on the operating table, and like poof, be just gone...or the Surgeon will disappear, the one flying the airliner, or driving the big rig. We can't imagine the chaos that will ensue for the last 7 years of Tribulation; the likes of which has never before been. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-17 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Every single time, for ALL of my 47 years, the volume is cranked up any time these absolutely legendary badasses come on. Whether it was done by one of my parents or myself. Literally grew up on this. One of the great regrets of my life is that I never saw them in concert before Dusty passed away. You might be cool. You’ll NEVER be as cool as these men.

The soundtrack to our young lives. I remember the sheer 'coolness' of hearing 'Legs', 'Sharp Dressed Man', 'Sleeping Bag' and 'Doubleback' on the radio and at parties. It felt like there were great possibilities ahead of you and the world was filled with great music.

@@johnpatterson4272 and I always hoped and thought that the parties would never end. Unfortunately and sadly when the rave scene was started and disco and all that the party did for me except when I sit in my room and put some of these old tunes on. Stevie and Jimi trading leads, Dusty and Bonham laying down the nastiest, fattest pocket imaginable, and Aretha throwin’ down soul on top of it all. It would be so good I don’t think the angels could stand it. If you put Ray Charles in there takin it to church on the piano…shit son, Hell would close its doors!

I like the intro to Precious and Grace - "picked up two women hitchhiking". In 75 I saw them in Lubbock at the big arena, 9 or 10 thousand stoned fans. Billy introduced the song that they were cruising thru Huntsville by the Texas Womens prison and saw two women hitchiking. Picked them up and it turns out they just got out of prison after quite a while of incarceration and were looking to kick up their heels a little - one was named Precious and one was named Grace and.. .. .. " Great concert. Every long distance drivers dream come true..... I keep looking....

No matter which guitar Billy plays, he sounds the same -- hot, funky, and good. He's the master of superb rock tone; he knows in his Texan guts that while shredding impresses people, it doesn't move them, and the best music, the music we remember and love, moves us.
@princerd10

He has a whole array of electronics that replicates the sound of his Gibson Les Paul he named "Pearly Gates". Regardless of the guitar Billy's playing, it sounds like that vintage Gibson. He no longer tours with the Gibson for fear of damage or theft. Billy has several custom made guitars he now uses.

My youngest son, a guitar player, and I saw Lynyrd Skynryd and ZZ Topp a few years ago. He was in his early 20s. I told him then that he could one day tell his friends about seeing these guys live. He also saw several other classic bands with me. I once asked him if he would be embarassed to be seen with his father at such concerts? He replied, nobody his age will be within 100 miles of here. He loves classic rock, blues and especially jazz. He asked me to see B.B. King with him that same year. Buddy Guy was the opening act. Buddy came into the audience with a wireless connection to his amp and played a solo 5" from our seats.

Been watching a lot of their more recent concert videos lately, reminicing. This is one of the best! First saw them in '71 when they were opening for Ten Years After. To my suprise Billy G. blew Alvin Lee away that night. Wish we could find some of those hungry early years videos.

This is so good , I can't believe how good a bass player Dusty Hill is . His right hand is just red Hot Billy. I noticed there is no Bass player on stage with your new line up. I love your playing Billy but Dusty Hill is a hard act to follow !!! I wish you all the best with your new line up , but I'll never stop loving the three amigos from Texas . Frank Beard too is a hard act to follow!!! You were just too good Brother!!!

I was lucky enough to see these guy's one time. They blew me away. When they started the show, it was kind of laid back, but by the end of the show, they came out and it was all leather, spikes chrome light and VOLUME. I will never forget that jam.

As a kid, 15 , I learned all the songs on my bass. That was 1977. Taught me a lot. I became an accomplished bassist. I owe gratitude. The dude was the "Bottom". Simple, and the core of good bass work. Anyone here with know how gets it. The dude stayed simple and BOTTOM. We owe a lot for him not trying to be Chris Squire. I learned a lot at a very young age that paid off so many years later. These guys are a class act.
