I saw someone comment about Ronan being the actual villain in this movie and actually though. That she actually just brought back Dodo to lessen the curse on herself, she purposely tries to share it throughout the people around her, she even let her psychiatrist watch the cam footage despite knowing what it brings. And remember, that one woman said that the baby (Dodo) in her should offer up her name to mother buddha too and Ronan did it exactly, she taught Dodo how to say her chosen birth name over and over again. But I think she did genuinely tried to save her towards the end, after realizing she actually loved her own child, sigh.

Gurl at the end when I saw the girl happy and healthy, I dismissed it until I got a severe headache which lasted for 3 days. I prayed in the temple to scare the bad juju and I ain't that religious. Great reaction! There's a lot to unpack in this film, based on the analysis and reviews from Taiwanese youtubers, so I'll have to rewatch this sometime😂 One theory states that the mum isn't actually interested in saving the daughter in the first place. The sequel will actually be from the daughter's perspective. The mirrors in that forbidden hallway were supposed to stop the mother buddha from escaping. The cult was praying to it while making sure it remains trapped underground. It seems like whatever Ronan and her group did released the mother buddha.

I was literally refreshing your page waiting so damn long for this upload. Love THIS movie, i blind watched it with mom. She thought it was a fun watch while i was so paranoid thinking we were both cursed. The movie was so engaging that i was repeating the prayer along and i really avoided saying my name the next day cuz I'm a PUSSSSY. As always a great reaction and so funny too. Loved it! Just wanted to add, in the movie it might be bad but the way those incantations are written near the end is not inherently "demonic". This is used in rituals in Buddhism and Hinduism. Monks even draw these in sand over the day, erase them and start again. Just clarifying because stuff from other religions often registers as weird or demonic just because it's unfamiliar. Like people might find the ink on skin, or the talismans etc to be related to something bad but they are actually usually used for good things. Even tantric practices have lots of variation and were often a way to rebel or protest against mainstream religion that was oppressing people or wasn't free enough. Plus the Goddess seems to have been derived from Kali who while being violent and very ritualistic is actually a protector though this deity obviously isn't. You might look at Kali's portraits and statues and think she looks demonic but she's actually vanquishing demons and embodies rage.

my little sister was four when she woke up in the middle of the night and told me there were people trying to cut her bed. she said they had big scissors, and they were cutting her bedsheets and trying to cut her bed.. and that I needed to tell them to go away I was shitting my pants and said "please, go away, you're scaring my sister" and she said "they're leaving" she went back to sleep like an angel I did NOT, and i still think about it sometimes I swear I prayed so much that night I was SO SCARED she never talked about it again.. she's six now
