How about teaching someone like me that hasn’t played collegiate golf and showing the sub par golfer how to fix what’s wrong. It’s easy to explain to someone that knows the verbiage of golf but to me this is a foreign language

An old golf tip for your takeaway feel is acting like your trying to shake hands with someone on right with your left hand. For the RH golfer of course.

How people get all bent out of shape about someone's handicap being too low befuddles me. They would get less strokes in a match and get beat all the time. Low is only useful for bragging, not competing. All the more so if you don't know what they post and will never get the pleasure of beating them. Complaining about KZbin golf is akin to complaining about WWF not adhearing to wrestling rules. Its entertainment, not sport.

I’ve only used toe hang putters. My miss is always a push especially when I’m nervous. I think the heavy toe causes the toe to lag on the forward stroke. So! I just recently got a toe up putter and I’m in love!!!!

Addressing Index vs Handicap for me helps define the differential between courses and their unique ratings. You can shoot a 78 on one course and a 81 on harder course with the same result on your index.

Hey Brad! Just wanted to say thank you for the video. High HC occasional player transferred over to getting serious and putting in work. 33 so late to the game, but hoping to make huge changes in coming years. Somehow your short game videos just click with me. Using your beginner to intermediate nippers, and getting pretty consistent and definitely have the feel down. Won’t implement into my actual game for at least another year of getting them down but will be practicing every chipping practice. Just wanted to say appreciate your videos because they click well with me, and now I actually have a short game on consistent level.

The “athletic” fix resonates. Had a lesson and instructor tried to change so many things, I left the lesson unable to hit the ball. For weeks. It was awful.

Hit the ball a long way, and play from the tips, score average par, you’re definitely a plus cap. Garrett is a good golfer just not elite like Brad.
@Jrod323912 ай бұрын
I’m glad he clarified the slope rating based on difficulty of course that is a huge misconception, but I do think handicap should be average for example Grant and Garrett probably have the same handicap when on average Grants probably 3 strokes better. Imagine if sports just took your best games and didn’t account for the games you didn’t produce good numbers. Average is a much stronger indicator on how good of a golfer you are day in and day out.

The irony that Garrett and Grant did a 8 round series and finished exactly 3 strokes apart on there averages is hilarious.

The handicap system is stupid. All it is is this fake badge of honor that masks people's true EXPECTED potential. It complicates things in tournaments because of sandbaggers, and doesn't really deliver anything at all besides false expectations. We could still have the handicap system, still use it in net-tourneys, and still do everything the exact same if we actually projected real averages. The lowest 8 rule is ridiculous. For decades it was lowest 10, and even that was still absurd.

My question is what playing conditions are these scores being played in e.g. in Club competitions... In Australia for example you can register rounds towards your handicap rounds unless thet are played in club competitions which are usually held 4-5 days a week... Are these rounds being played in comps or some social settings (makes a BIG difference)?...
@johnlabernik45992 ай бұрын
Cheating your handicap lower is counter productive lol. The people that are upset have obviously never played in a handicapped league. Sandbaggers and high handicaps always win in the end.

For regular non-pro players: On any given day at a typical course, you can (should) expect to shoot like 7 strokes worse than what your handicap would suggest. So if you're a 12 HCP, when you go play, there's a good chance you're gonna shoot probably 88-92 or thereabouts (72+12+7). When you start looking at it like that, it starts to make more sense. Edit: if you go out and you're firing on all cylinders and shoot well below what your handicap would suggest, then congrats, when you post that score you can expect your handicap to come down a bit. Then tomorrow, you'll probably go shoot 7 strokes worse than that, on average. If you graph your handicap+72, your scores are gonna bobble around 5-10 strokes worse than that typically, with occasional huge scores and great scores mixed in.

Handicap system is a joke since the last change, what handicap system on earth celebrates playing poorly.i shot 31 points and my handicap improved because my 8th best score was 30 points, so I shot 5 worse than my handicap and improved my handicap. Morons.There are a few more faults in the system that I would happily argue with anyone who created this LUDICROUS system.

I’m a 6 handicap. When I’m playing well, I break 80 regularly. When I am playing bad, I shoot bogey golf. I think to get a lower handicap, playing higher rated courses is actually more advantageous than easier rated courses.

give me a break. we understand handicap. but you don't play the correct rules. incorrect drops, fluffing your lies, gimmes and a ton of other stuff that improves your score. this is fun fluffy youtube golf. don't flex your handicap it's insulting to those who play the game by the rules

Y’all could explain the course you’re playing at in the beginning of each video. Maybe people who claim error in handicap either way are just unfamiliar with the actual course your playing. It w out of be cool to know that your playing a par 72 but with the difficulty of the course shooting a 78 w out of maintain a par in handicap.

I think, the reason why ppl hate when you guys give a handicap score is because you advertise for that company and claim they can figure out a handicap in 3 rounds😳, when it take 20 rounds, your own expert said this. I believe Brad, Sean and Garrett, because we have seen them play full rounds Consecutively on your personal channels and Good Good, but the others just horse around, or don't post anymore on their personal channels which isn't bad but I can see why people complain about this. You clam ppl are a certain handicap but it never looks that way. I do think you guys should have mentions how tee boxes matter when figuring these scores out A lot sooner than in this video. Most golfer are shooting from the whites and you guys play the back tees which can change someone handicap big time.

Two questions 1). What if all your scores come from the same place? 2). I guess relatedly, when you play someone at a different course, your handicap adjusts for the new place you are playing at? So someone is a 3 handicap at their home course, and plays a scratch golfer whose scores are all from their different but home course....but they play somewhere new. Does the app adjust? I guess overall, does the single number account for all variables? Its been discussed regarding fairly "playing by the rules", no lie adjustment, appropriate lateral drops let alone lateral drops over white stakes and provisionals etc. In fact, it would do everyone very good for a clear video explaining how to play different stakes etc (yellow, red white). However, apart from playing by the rules, what if you play at a new location from your club, which has a different turf totally unfamiliar to you etc...what if you play in extreme windy conditions that day, someone may be used to links style while the other is used to tree lined....does Handicap account for that? I suppose if your buddies set up a league and everyone follows the same rules and plays the same courses its not as big a deal. But come on people are taking lateral drops all the time, and when they do, some are just dropping wherever they feel, almost on the fairway, and they want handicap to show they are 6s etc. Also, are these solo rounds? Or tournament setting rounds? So this video is nice but nowhere complete. Sorry to say.

A few things you have to do when turning in a score for handicap -putt everything out, not an official score if you take even one gimmie -play everything as it lies unless local rules allow relief in certain situations - play OBs and lateral hazards as stroke and distance and not taking drops. Exception being if local rules allow you to take a drop to speed up play….

For perspective I charted a buddy of mines scores who’s on tour. He’s pretty middle of road guy, just missed the Fed Ex Cup playoff and he’s just inside the top 100 OWGR. If you plug in his last 20 rounds (Score, rating, and slope) he’s an +8.2 handicap avg score was 70 avg course rating 75.4 and avg slope 141. His best 8 rounds of those 20 he’d played avg 66 avg rating 75.3 and avg slope of 137. For most the course that avg rating and slope was based on if any of us went to these courses and played all the way back… keep in mind 6 of those rounds Par for the tournament was 1-2 strokes lower than normal and some of these courses the conditions are different than what you’d see on a typical day (faster greens, longer rough, and maybe even a few tee boxes are moved back even further)
