wow I am thrilled this video just came out. I was at the range Saturday trying to figure out what I can work on and I will be using this exact drill next weekend. I cannot stop coming out and down from the top on my swing! This should be so helpful. Thanks Brad!

I like the water bottle technique,I was taught also when bringing your swing back was act like your shaking some one hand with your right hand when bringing swing back . And when bringing the club back act like your trying to put your right hand in your pocket. Those both helped out.

My coach been trying to get me to hit the inside of the ball with driver and my brain just doesn’t comprehend. I think the missing part was dropping my hands close to my body. Definitely hitting the range tomorrow. Thanks Brad!

Oo just had an idea for Good Good Labs: when I was teaching my younger cousin the basics of golf, I made up a game to play until he got good enough to keep his actual score. 3 points for hitting the fairway, 3 points for GIR, and 3 points for 2 putting (or less). I think it was 3/3/3, I can't remember if I gave more weight to one of those objectives. It would be awesome to see you play a round in that format with someone who is still learning.

Just watched the chipping lesson video. So that’s how you hit a normal chip (bump and run). How do you hit a higher chip? Not necessarily a flop shot but just a higher chip that lands softer. 😊

Played 9 today and went 5 over which is a pb for me. Today all I was thinking was hands inside, hit the inside of the ball, and try to draw it. Most greens I’ve ever hit and flyin dead straight. Getting an actual draw is still a rarity but just those 3 things made me gain very noticeable amount of yardage and a dead straight ball flight while feeling like I’m not even swinging as hard.

I greened my first par 4 with my 4 iron and got a tap in birdie. 3 weeks ago I would miss the entire fairway right and short.

I’ve always felt if Matt could groove one consistent swing, he’d be a force of nature. Matt, himself, says what I think is true: it’s just too inconsistent. Left, right… not the biggest concern. If he had-for instance-a consistent 5 yard fade, it would simply be an issue of lining up and distance. Matt’s swing is potentially very good.

I’ve only seen the first few minutes of this video. But I’m interested to see if Brad tries to fix Matt’s tendency: stuck inside on the back swing. I think if Matt addresses stuck-inside and drills short game, that handicap number at the start of some Good Good majors might plummet.
@DoNotTrustTrusts
@DoNotTrustTrusts 4 ай бұрын
High handicappers nearly always use putter around the green. Sometimes in situations where chipping is obviously a better solution. If Matt adds crispy chipping AND eliminates a stuck inside backswing, his golf value meal will be a lot more tasty.

Sorry, I’m a Matt fan, he’s funny, seems like a good dude, but how has his swing been remotely good?? The last 6 months has been tough to watch.. by far the most “poor” shots across the group. Except Steve but that doesn’t count. Easily a double digit handicap and they play sooo much. Glad he’s inviting a lesson
@timothynash2993
@timothynash2993 4 ай бұрын
The difference I see in Matt and Steve is that Steve will hit a really bad shot from time to time, but also really good shots, where Matt is just hitting semi bad shots every time. So when they play scrambles Steve can contribute but Matt doesn't. Matt does have two hole in ones on par 4 holes, so there is that.
@C_E_0
@C_E_0 2 ай бұрын
@@timothynash2993I think the holes in one need to be taken out of the conversation because that more speaks to his luck rather than his skill. I’m an 8 handicap, been playing for over 10 years, and I’m still chasing that hole in one feeling. But I’m willing to bet money I’d still beat him in a match
