I did the very same install. I used my vibra tool with a long blade. I saw the problem with the heat melting the plastic. The bottom is very thick plastic. I put firm plastic foam in the bottom to fill the gap and give it support and insulation from vibration. I did not give enough room on the bottom where the clip goes and I had to use a smaller one and cut off the inner corner, very snug. Good job and information. Thanks.

Just did this on mine, glad to know this cuz I have a 99 slt dakota, last dude never did any maintenance. Only paid 2k so I've been fixing little things here and there. The 99 line seems pretty sturdy worth maintaining if you get one

On a dodge dart when your speedometer says 104 an you no your not going that fast when I touch my keys the horn blows there is a little red round light on do u think it needs to be reset or battery in the key needs changed I haven't Change d the battery an I've had the car year an a half any suggestions

Matt Thanks for posting this. My speedo in my 2000 Dodge Ram all of a sudden went out. I’ve tried trouble shooting for a couple weeks I even replaced the speed sensor. Nada nothing worked. I did the calibration and BAM! Fixed it. Thanks again sir!

When my grandfather passed away in 1976, this car stayed parked behind his house until I turned 16. I did all the body work on it and my dad put in new upholstery. It was the absolute coolest first car any teenager could possibly have. I loved it! The love that went into this video shows that others know exactly what I am talking about :-) I hope it has a great home.

They make a radio install kit for these now that have templates to cut and trim pieces needed. Makes it a bit easier. Very Nice install though. Nice truck too. I like the leds on the doors.

This is not re-calibration for things like bigger tires or lower gears. It is for when you remove the needles (replace stepper motors, change background, etc.).

I had to do the exact same thing except my double din was a little taller I don't need decent air flow in the vent I'm only in mn, Then I found out my stereo doesn't even work and my stock don't fit anymore I messed up but good video if only I had seen how you did it sooner I wouldn't have the mess I'm in thanks
