I'm actually doing this right now. I also started with just the top cut right below the vents but for the bezel to fit right I cut into the bottom. I ordered a scorce double din generic kit for a gm and modified it. I have it molded in just needs sanding and paint and it should look good.

I had to do the exact same thing except my double din was a little taller I don't need decent air flow in the vent I'm only in mn, Then I found out my stereo doesn't even work and my stock don't fit anymore I messed up but good video if only I had seen how you did it sooner I wouldn't have the mess I'm in thanks
