Thanks so much for sharing these 3 tools! We grew up calling the 'action hoe' a 'hula hoe' and really appreciate how well it can knock the weeds down (even though it is also sowing in more weed seeds in the process, dang it). The auger is new to me, and I TOTALLY gotta get one! I have compost that has chunks that need busting up. I have about 6,000sq.ft. of hillside that I want to plant. I can see that really helping this senior gal in the yard. The vacuum idea for bugs is so smart! I'm growing cantaloupe for the first time this year, and I'll keep this tip in mind. Thanks for sharing 💚

Thank you for this video; I just ordered an action hoe. One of my favorite gardening "tools" are plastic mortar tubs. I use them for mixing in soil amendments, to hold the dug-up soil when planting and to carry plants and tools to the garden. They're pretty light, inexpensive and relatively indestructible.

@hisandherbshighdeserthomestead23 күн бұрын
I was watering once a week only because my bins were retaining a lot of moisture, so they didn't need to be watered frequently. It sounds like yours may be ready. My leaves were damaged and looked like something had been getting a free meal.

Hey, I have a tower of 18 plants and they have just started putting out these runners. I thought they were a stem with a broken-off leaf at first lol. Is there a way I can get them to root into soil without them being able to reach the ground? Maybe I'll try one of them tiny 1 inch pots of soil that can dangle from the tower without breaking the runner. I don't know if Im making any sense.
@hisandherbshighdeserthomestead23 күн бұрын
you can try cutting the runner off. Leave about 2 inches of stem on the runner, and place it in a shallow container of water. Just enough to cover the bottom of the daughter plant. It should root that way too. I haven't had success with it, but I've seen others do it and win.
@clearz360022 күн бұрын
