If one had to give the 1996 Vezina to a goalie on a playoff team, what about Darren Puppa or Grant Fuhr? Brodeur played 77 games in 1995-96, but Fuhr played 79! Puppa even had a higher save percentage

From Wikipedia: "The fewest NHL games required to reach the mark was 424, set by Wayne Gretzky. Second quickest was Mario Lemieux, achieving the mark in his 513th game. In a sense, Gretzky was the fastest and the second fastest, as he scored his second 1,000 points (the NHL's only player ever to score 2,000 points in regular-season play) only 433 games after scoring his first 1,000 points." And there are still so many who say he is not the greatest player of all time. Its too bad you had to end this video with that "what if" scenario of Crosby playing more games. Woulda, shoulda, coulda is nothing more than fantasizing. Records are about reality.

Bobby Orr 1970 : Ross Hart Norris Smythe Plus - Minus All Star Stanley Cup All in a single season. Never before & never again. Staggering.
@matt75hooper8 ай бұрын
Orr is shortchanged here. It must be mentioned Orr lead the NHL in Plus / Minus a record 6 times. In those 6 seasons, Orr's AVERAGE Plus - Minus those seasons was a +80. Not a misprint, +80 ! Orr in today's space age skates, featherweight nylon gloves & $500 one piece composite sticks that shoot like a Howitzer, he would be a human highlight reel every game.

The issue with the goaltending back then is that they were discouraged to go down for shots (put alot of equipment behind a save even a basic one) and were only taught to go down on deflections or inclose shots, which lead to alot hilarity as you see on the ice. Alot of their equipment was just trash, and not even much of an upgrade from the 70s gear. I couldn't even wear their 80s gear for ball hockey lol.

Yeah, Billy Smith, Grant Fuhr, Mike Liut, Andy Moog, Pete Peeters, Tom Barrasso, Pelle Lindbergh, Bob Essensa, Ron Hextall, Tony Esposito, Don Beaupre...etc, and if we're gonna venture away from NHL goalie representatives for a moment I seem to remember one *Vladislav Tretiak* who almost single-handedly gave NHL players the shits because he sucked so much. Like all the other goalies on this list. Whatta buncha losers!

5:24 "Stay at home defencemen do not belong in the hockey hall of fame" Well there goes Doug Harvey. Yeah he only won the Norris seven times and named as the 6th all time greatest by the NHL itself. You just disqualified yourself.

Lindros is the best PPG player of the 1990s not named Mario or Wayne. In my opinion that really says it all. The guy is underrated, it's a joke he wasn't a first ballot HOFer.

Should've done a pick for the penguins excluding lemieux, jagr, crosby, fleury, and malkin. Gets interesting after that, with the top choices probably being Naslund, Recchi, Staal, and Letang. I'd say you'd have to go with Recchi considering his stamina and consistency. Man looking back at their 90s picks they had a lot of good and popular journeymen players but no one that really stood out and could provide depth behind the big 3 of jagr francis and lemieux.

Yup definitely a shame this is gone. Top 10s and list media gets viewed negatively but yours showed a lot of knowledge of the sport and NHL. And you did it without any of the toxicity in general that's on youtube and has been in north american sports the last few years. Cheers bruh

Hey, dude…this is Curt! I’m so pleased you enjoyed my videos. I loved making them. It’s amazing to me that people still watch them, so thank you! I was a wreck 5 years ago. I was depressed to the point of suicide. Thankfully I got help and after years of therapy and hard work, I’m good now. At least mentally I am. I was rear ended twice last year and now my body is a mess. Hahaha, can’t win ‘em all. Anyway, thanks for watching,and I’m thrilled you still like my old videos.

I almost feel like Bobby Orr is underrated. He was kind of the Gretzky of his era, and did it while still being concerned with his own defensive duties. The man is more than a legend. I need other words for him.

Re-re draft 2017 no doubt will be Cale Makar... as a Flyers fan it's sickening we drafted Nolan Patrick @ 2 when perhaps the best-scoring defenseman of this era was available 2 slots later in Cale Makar, who barring injury, undoubtedly will be a HOF'er :-///

I love this haha, truth. A favorite point on the hockey history timeline is 1993. In 93 when Brodeur was a rookie he joined Roy and Belfour as the only good goalies in the entire league. 93 isn’t even that long ago lol
