Hi! I was just wondering why you didn’t use your 3 piece travel rods? I’m planning to buy a bunch of them to avoid oversize luggage. And what bag did you use to carry the 3 piece rods on flights before? Thanks!
@lurefishingforwrasseuk2588
@lurefishingforwrasseuk2588 18 сағат бұрын
I sold them because their travel length was virtually 1m. Finding a suitable bag REALLY difficult. As I knew multi section travel rods are inherently not as good as butt joint rods, and as I said finding a bag wasn’t easy, I sold them and replaced with butt joint rods and used a Sportube. Not looked back. Hope this helps??!!

Have you ever even tried Daiwa saltwater reels?Sorry but without reviewing them you come across as Shimano biased.I've used Shimano and Daiwa,trust me i've used them hard.Shimano is no longer the best.Stellas have had their internals cheapened over the years,but Daiwa have much better internals now.If you compare Saltiga's to Stella's for instance,well i've had both,Saltiga destroys Stella all day long.Try one.I realise this review is not about those two models,but is my opinion on the saltwater reels that both make in general.

If you look through my channel’s content you’ll see it’s not just reviews of Shimano, but also Daiwa, Penn, Okuma, Quantum, Abu, Cadence and Airflo reels. I’ve had both Daiwa and Penn reels “let go” within 3 months, which have put me off these brands. All my Shimano’s have been perfect, with literally zero issues. This is why I personally prefer Shimano.

Coming late to the party, but when you finish the FG knot and tie a few half hitches to lock it, cut the end of the mono / fluoro very short. Finish the knot off by tying a 6-wrap Risuto OVER the end of the leader making sure to trap the end under the Risuto. Finally, some GOOD waterproof CA glue over the entire knot will protect it running through the guides. This will make both ends of the knot smooth and will pass through the guides effortlessly.

I got myself 2 expensive set ups (zenaq tobizo + saltiga) but can't really go wrong with them. I'd advise anyone to get the top quality gear for this type of fishing if they can afford it. All my lines are Varivas and BKK hooks on all poppers, jigs and stickbaits... If I may I would suggest the PR not instead of FG. I'm off to Egypt, by Sudan border, next month. It's meant to be great for GT fishing if is on your list. Guanacaste is on the list for end of the year. Tight lines and keep up the good work.
