Your workout splits look solid they just confuse me. The reason why I say this is because I have most of my day spread out for example. Monday explosive movement cleans snatches. Tuesday recovery Wednesday is a little bit slower heavy movement day like squats single leg stuff like single leg quad extensions barbel split squats. And like hip thrust stuff. Thursday upper body. Saturday is cleans with some plyos Sunday off

I load everything all up at once with a days break in between taking recovery very seriously, the weights I'm moving are relatively light compared to my maxes, so my CNS isn't struggling, the plan is to just keep going up incrementally from here so it's all much easier🔥🔥🔥

Why not use a belt and do a full squat?
@jevonsutherland13 күн бұрын
A belt stops the core from engaging making the movement easier, i need a strong core as a sprinter so i stopped using belts unless im maxing out and even then its 50 50🔥🔥🔥
@fabian1333312 күн бұрын
@@jevonsutherland I am not sure about that. I use the belt so I can feel the core tighter as I do the Valsalva maneuver. The core get a lot of work that way. If you do the full squat you will feel the glutes and hamstring way more but probably will increase the risk of back injury so you know best. I saw Noah Lyles doing seated squats.
@jevonsutherland12 күн бұрын
you can feel the core tighter because its a double brace as the belt works against your stomach causing intra abdominal pressure, which can lead to organ failure later down the line and affect the pelvic floor. This doesn't mean belts are bad, but know when to use them i.e a at a certain weight or on a max lift attempt(saying you even need it) regardless, I've drifted away from belts since it makes the lift harder since your core actually has to do ALL the work, carry one around in case but never use it.🔥🔥🔥

@Leonidas-eu9bb14 күн бұрын
This is wrong / useless! You can't expect to run faster just be increasing stride length. It's all about how much force or better impulse an athlete generates. Just focusing on step length will result in overstriding longer contact times and slower times! Moving the COM horizontally is the ultimate goal. But Not landing further in front.. 😢
@jevonsutherland14 күн бұрын
correct which is exactly why you need to teach the athlete to apply more force to displace the hip directly above the next step instead of reaching for the next step and overstriding. Everything is about FORCE not stride length, but to produce more force you need to push and that creates a longer stride length. Giving this to an athlete without any explanation won't do much, but teach them how to push and it does a lot for velocity🔥🔥🔥

Thanks dude, I will start doing this also. Should it be further when using spikes and also if you land way ahead of you hips you won't be fast.

Im still teaching her how to properly engage her hips and hit the right angles, the distance is correct but her approach is wrong, but once she fixes that, it will be better🔥🔥🔥
@jevonsutherland15 күн бұрын
The distance stays the same regardless of shoes, but one step behind the line is good for 2 points since its closer to accurate distancing in blocks🔥🔥🔥
