I have 2 55 qt. One is 3 years old the other is 1 1/2 old. The year and a half old Ice chest latches (the black rubber part) have broken twice for no apparent reason. $16 bucks a pop for replacement. a week and a half shipping. I hope someone starts making aftermarket latches soon. Still cheaper than a YETI though way cheaper.

Block ice in 10L Jerry. No mess huge ice retention. Like 5-6 days. There is a gap in the market for plain 10L rectangular block ice container without handles etc closest I can find is RV water containers.

Have you tried it with the ice packs on the bottom? My yeti ice freezes ice melt. It can't do that in top of the ice.

Bro, can you do a test with one 5 pound Engel 5°F ice pack and one 5 pound Engel 32°F ice pack and pair them together in one cooler with ice and see how long it will last.

I'm in Florida with the juice going off quite a bit, would like to NOT have my generator running UNTIL I actually need it, so would this be a good alarm that I could use to wait till it alarms & then I can start my generator?

For a deep freeze or regular freezer you'll be killing alkaline batteries far to quickly, id suggest using Energizer lithium batteries they are good for down to -40° below.

What's the best wireless thermometer you've used? I'd like to have a thermometer I can use to monitor my fridge, freezer, or cooler temps in a power outage without opening them.

Good Review! Thanks, a mill for taking the time (and the expenses) to put it all together. As a motorcycle camper, my main priority is how compact I can pack down any gear, when not in use. So, for me the "IceMule" would be my choice. I'm only really interested in a cooler that can get me from where I purchase my drinks and dairy products and to a campsite which may be 2 hours away, and then keep things cold throughout the afternoon and a night.

I have an Ozark Trail 64oz jug with a black twist on cap that's also a carry handle. Marred and dinged to death but will still have ice at the end of shift. That aside, all these tumblers have failed imo. Why? I hate tumblers with no handle. I like a positive purchase on one when driving, not having it drop because my grip released a little or because your aim was a bit off and bumped the cup holder edge on the way down. And I know you can buy a slip on handle for some brands/models but that adds to cost and I'd just like one that already comes that way.

I'd like to see the Engel 32° up against the old Engel 20°. I've found the 20° would prolong the ice for an extra day or so. Any ice melt would refreeze in that first day resulting in zero ice loss

Were the ice packs all at the same starting temp, or were they all starting at their respective phase change temps?
