Hi Mark, At no point in our video do we mention that the M2 is compatible with the Magnetic VND. What we clearly stated was that the M1, which is the first series, is compatible with the M2. Therefore, there is no misleading information in our video. It seems there may be some misunderstanding on your end. On our website, every filter system is categorized separately for a reason, so anything outside of its designated system is not compatible.

Hi everyone, Just a quick note: none of our VND filters are compatible with lens hoods. This is because VND filters are larger in size compared to standard ND filters. For instance, while an 82mm ND filter uses 82mm optical glass, an 82mm VND filter may use optics as large as 85-90mm. This design helps minimize issues like vignetting. It’s worth mentioning that VND filters are 10 times more popular than standard ND filters, so the lack of a lens hood is rarely a concern for most users. Additionally, our high-quality filter coatings effectively reduce reflections, providing similar benefits to using a lens hood.

None of our filters are waterproof, as they do not enhance footage in underwater environments. Additionally, ND/PL filters have a rotating ring, which could allow water to enter. Therefore, if your filter gets splashed, please ensure it is thoroughly cleaned.

Handling: The current size of Pocket 3 ND filters is already challenging to handle, especially for those with bigger hands. Making these filters thinner would make them even harder to grip and manage. B. Reflection Issues: In our testing with thinner versions of these filters, particularly the ND/PL type, we noticed unwanted reflections under white light. This is an issue that some other brands, who have opted for thinner filters, are already facing. C. Gimbal Safety: DJI's own ND filters for the Pocket 3 are designed not to close completely. This is intentional to prevent potential damage to the gimbal. If the filter shifts, it could lock up the gimbal, risking permanent damage. Given DJI's ongoing firmware updates, it's often safer to adhere to their design considerations when creating compatible filters. D. Gimbal Movement: Even when the gimbal is locked or unlocked, the case provided by DJI allows for some movement. This indicates that DJI has taken these factors into account in their design. Hi Rob, The V2 and Eiger filter systems are quite different. The V2 is a hybrid Variable ND/Circular Polarizer (VND/CPL) filter, while the Eiger is either a VND or a CPL, but not both together. You cannot use these systems simultaneously. However, there is a trick for using the Eiger VND to mimic some CPL functionality. If you want to use a Circular Polarizer (CPL) effect while using a Variable ND (VND) filter, you generally can't use them at the same time. It's usually a choice between the VND or removing it to use the CPL. That said, you can achieve a partial CPL effect with the Eiger VND by keeping it slightly loose. If you attach the VND to your camera and don't tighten the screw fully, you can rotate the entire filter system. This rotation can simulate some CPL benefits. To clarify, if you attach the adapter ring and the filter system to your camera and keep the setup a bit loose, you can rotate it to get a partial CPL effect. While this method won't be as effective as a dedicated CPL filter, it can provide some of the desired results. Just be cautious when using this trick, as rotating the entire filter system can be a bit risky. Just to be clear there is no compatibility between Eiger & V2. Thanks Freewell Team

Hi there, Your message is a bit confusing, especially this part: "then want to remove the lens hood and add the magnetic setup ring when I want to use the filters." The system is actually quite straightforward. You simply attach the base magnetic ring to your lens and then swap out the magnetic filters-UV, ND, CPL, etc.-as needed. The CPL filter is great for reducing glare during the day. For night shots, especially to handle glare from car headlights, I’d recommend using our Mist Filter.
