If the rider took a photo based on a different criteria under section 12 or 13 of the DPA, then it was legally processed. Conversely, if there was no such criteria, then processing is illegal. He didn't ask for anyone's permission, even my brother in law isn't aware that he took the photo. My concern is he didn't hide any of my information and just uploaded it to their system. Also, when I reached out to their company support, they told me that the rider just followed their protocol. The representative also mentioned that they can't remove the photo to their system. @allenpark7675 well to be perfectly frank, the proximate cause (which started this) was your initial failure to put the ID in a closed container. Further, there was a criteria (valid reason) why a picture was taken, as proof of receipt. So while you may be able to pursue a case, most likely any damages awarded may be reduced because of your participatory negligence, if any are awarded at all. Actually, I can't understand why you gave the ID without any container. When I send items, even without personal information, they are always sealed. Next time, be more vigilant with your rights to avoid situations like these, or so your claims will be stronger in the future.
