Why 44.1 Khz?! it does not fit the 48 Khz that your camera is recording

Would you Still recommend the a6400 ? I already have one and am looking for another camera, i was potentially looking at a FX30 but for the price im thinking i can get another A6400/ZV E10 or even an A6700 with audio upgrades for less. First time shooting a solo wedding and am nervous as hell 🤣
@karlhall48

Or would you just use one camera ? I feel in my head for the shots I'm looking for I'm going to need 2 🤷‍♂️

But does it make sense to have two of the same camera ? Probably not right ? Currently have a Sony G lens 18-105mm f4 with a DJI ronin mini 3, one rode mic wireless go. Any recommendations for upgrades would be greatly appreciated. Budget would be like 2000 US dollars

It depends where you are in your business. If you're just starting or don't have to many weddings booked, I would get another 6400 because it's cost effective. With that being said, you may want newer features in something like a ZV E10ii.

When you mic someone up with the Tascam 10l, how do you get the audio to sync with the video? Doesnt it have to be connected to the camera to do that?

This "stereo emphasis" system is based on the well-known "physiologic effect". Location of a certain sound is given to the auditor by the high-frequencies component of the signal. This is why it often is really tough for most listeners to precisely locate where a double-bass is situated. Same for large drums, tubas, and everything emitting a sound lower than 100 Hz in the spectrum. This is also why, in many sound systems, only a single low-range enclosure is necessary. Especially home-systems. So, in these sound processors, sound engineers use this human ear sensitivity to higher pitched noises. By tweaking in the duration of the sound, its base frequencies and resonance frequencies, its volume relative to others, etc. they make us feel the sensation of facing a wider field of sound. Even with headphones/earphones, even though the smaller the transducer the tougher it is to create those "spatial" effects. Mainly because smaller membranes have a huge amount of work dealing with lower frequencies, they hardly can reproduce higher ones... they just can't handle both, plus those high-energy mid-tones that take lots of membrane travel to render properly. In low-end equipments, those systems are basic. But they get ultra-complicated in the better ones, such as what Sony recently released in their "home cinema" range : four enclosures create a sensation of be surrounded by 12 ones in the three dimensions, ceiling included. With this kind of small recorders, don't even bother using that function. Processors built-in can hardly do a good job. It shall be OK for recording conferences, because nobody knows how or have time to process the sound. But your skills and softwares enable you to do a way better job in your studio than this tiny thing ever will. Hope you have a better "picture" of how those sound processors operate...

Why not just use a wireless mic for the bride ?

You can, but I find that sometimes depending on the dress, a wireless mic is to bulky.

You literally just changed my entire LIFE!!!!!! Editing was becoming such a chore trying to go through the process of converting 4k files to proxy files. This just changed the game for me. Now I'll never dread the editing process. I changed the setting in both my cameras to record both file types from here on out. Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH for this!! This is the type of value I think deserves millions of views!

This video of yours is one of the BEST on wedding audio recording that I've ever watched. It's because you show every step of your workflow by using video. For example, you show what cables to use. Later you show the dj mixer where your recorders are plugged in. You also show the result of your audio recording by showing the clip of the speaker speaking. You also share the personal skill to get other people's cooperation to make your job easier. Wow! Thank you so much for such a THOROUGH and EFFECTIVE tutorial.
