I fail to see how this game isn't a strategy game. I kinda dislike when people say that cause it just feels wrong to me. Maybe I don't like it because it's basically saying that I actually am dogshit at Fire Emblem. I'm relatively new to FE, and I'm doing a hard classic playthrough in Awakening for the first time and I often need to reset cause a character I liked died. I DO have to strategize, very often in fact if I don't want anyone to die. So why do people say it's not a strategy game? Just cause it's "easier" than the other games? That doesn't make sense to me. It feels pretentious, like everyone is saying "you don't need to strategize for ANYTHING in this game!!!". I do. Maybe you don't but I do. And I have fun with it. A lot of fun. Simply playing a FE game is fun for me, I love the style of grid based gameplay it has. That's why I like these games. I have to actually think in order to win, which I like doing. Awakening makes me think. Is that not what strategy is?

I pretty much ignored the MyFairy mechanic.

I think Thracia is one of the easier games in the series it is just really unfair. Unfair does not equal hard though. Just so many hidden mechanics and weird interactions. FE6 is really hard *and* unfair.

Some of the voice acting in this game was staggeringly good, in particular I think berkut and mae's english VAs killed it

Branch of promotion is the best idea they ever created, and tower of valni is the best because it help you level up characters that's annoying to level up during main campaign like cleric and archer

I lost the healer in the second battle. Though it was gonna be okay bc they said “I’ll retreat”… instead of a dying monologue. But they were just in cutscenes but can’t pick them for battle anymore.

Hard. Classic. Using turn wheel. I still had an unavoidable situation, where I lost a unit I just recruited to enemies that roam the world map and attack first. Leaving nothing to turn back to. I just had to take that loss. Turn wheel is definitely a QOL feature I enjoy. And it still has room for consequences

Its not one piece but i saw 8 hrs and down loaded this right away since playing fire emblem on switch ( and rewinding when some one dies help) but this series has always been in my mind since the game cube

see the thing is that there is no way for me to legally play this game. I want it. I have CRAVED it for years. but it has never been released outside of Japan. and I haven't played any pirated fan translations for Fire Emblem. so I am not sure what to do with your admonishment to play it before watching this... it simply isn't an option I have. hell even if I did want to pirate a fan translation I have no idea where to go to do that.

I watched the 3 houses vid and am now going through the whole series. 3 houses wasn't my first fire emblem but it was my favorite.

Locking content behind playing badly and losing units is a slap in the face to players that have perfected the art of playing it safe and keeping everyone alive. If "death is a part of the game", why don't any of the games have more permanent canonical character deaths? "Echos was the ack sheep" "Stones was the black sheep" Personally, I always felt this game was the "black sheep". Besides, it's Pokemon syndrome. Why keep remaking the first game? When are we going to get an English remake of Genealogy/776?

Finally got the game back in late spring this year and I'm hooked. It feels so true to the Zelda franchise I forget it's a spinoff Nothing cooler than maining fan favorites and collecting weapons. The grind feels worth it!

2:57 I do find it sad that since those games, Four Swords GBA and Minish Cap are made by Capcom; it's really hard to get a reference in modern games because of Japanese copyright fuckery and all that. I would've loved to see a Boxing Gloves weapon that lets Link (or another character) ride in Ricky's pouch and maybe some attacks that summons the other two mounts such as Moosh flying in to, uh, moosh enemies. Heck, Roc's Cape from Seasons, Four Swords, and Minish Cap would've been a great Paraglider skin in Breath and Tears. 5:25 That also bugs me how they made Link's Kokiri Sword into a great sword. I understand it's to achieve parity when transformed but I would've had him wield the Great Fairy Sword in that case.

I rarely cry at movies but I cried an ocean playing 3 houses. Never once did I cry after the first second of a KZbin video until now 😭 This game is so special, it means the world to me 💙💙

My friend, this was spectacular! Fire Emblem is one of my all time favorite game franchises and the Tellius duology is my ABSOLUTE favorite! You did an excellent job explaining the story of PoR and making it easy to understand for new comers! And am looking forward to listening to your videos on the rest of the series!

I do love most of these characters and the costumes they wear. I love many of the outfits of Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, Sheik, Impa, Lana, Cia, Volga, Wizzro, Darunia, Ruto, Midna, Zant, Fi, and Ghirahim. Although since I play the original Hyrule Warriors, with most of its DLC, I don't have the costumes for the other characters, even though I do have most of the characters themselves. I have the Era of Hero of Time, and Era of Twilight outfits for Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf, The entire expansions with Master Quest, Twilight, and Termina, the 5 Legends characters pack, and Toon Zelda, and the Dark Link costume. I love playing as most of the characters in many of their costumes, and Twili Midna, Young Link, Toon Link, Toon Zelda, Tetra, King Daphnes, and Skull Kid are very fun to play as too, even without the costumes of the later versions. Although, I do wish Rusl, Nabooru, and Groose were playable too. I would've loved to play as them. Rusl would've had nice moves that would sometimes involve Ashei, Shad, Auru, the Golden Cuckoo, and the Hawk. Rusl's potential costumes could've incorporated a Helmeted, Unhelmeted, and Bandaged form, and potential alternate costumes for Rusl could've included references to his fellow resistance members, Colin (costume for Unhelmeted Rusl), Talo (costume for Bandaged Rusl), Renado (Unhelmeted), Barnes (Helmeted), Darknut (Helmeted), possibly even Knight Commander Eagus from Skyward Sword (Helmeted). Nabooru could've wielded the axe of Iron Knuckle and wear its armor in Focus Spirit mode. Then we would finally have a playable axe wielder in the game. Nabooru's potential costumes could've referenced The several miniboss and patrolling Gerudo pirates from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, Twinrova (or Koume and Kotake separately), and Telma. Groose deserved better than to be completely absent from the game, while his Groosenator was reduced to a set piece after only being used in one story mission. So I would've loved to play as Groose, and have him bust out his Groosenator for his biggest moves. Groose's potential costumes could've included references to several Skyloft residents, including Fledge, Karane, Cawlin, Stritch, Batreaux, and Instructors Horwell and Owlan. I also wish that there were other costumes that represented the Clock Town and Romani Ranch residents. We only got Kafei Mask on Sheik, but no costume of Kafei himself (That one could work on Young Link or Toon Link maybe), or Anju (Probably for Zelda or Lana), or Romani (Marin probably), or Cremia (also Marin), or Jim and the Bombers (Actually that would be another cool one for Groose). Anyway, the point of me saying all this is that I am happy we got what we did, but still disappointed that we didn't get what we didn't.

i think Claude's route makes the most sense, Dimitri's seems canon but Eldegarde's has to be a dream. Literally all her problems could of been better solved if she was open to conversing or even speaking to all the other lords Byleth and Rhea

I see Butters innocence as a consequence of how hard and dominating his parents are over him. He's pretty much a kid affraid of exploring his freedom over the fear of his parents reactions. That makes Butters trapped into an "innocence bubble" leaving him childish (at first glance). His parents always want to "dominate" him (as exemplified in the vampires episode).

Miss you

Having no limit to what classes a character can be isn't fun for me. I want a character to be say locked into being a peg knight or sword master bc otherwise you end up with what everyone did and make a full team of wyvern classes. Lame

I am just playing through on Normal Casual, haven't done a single battle other than the chapter battles and some parallogues, and the challenge and pacing is fine. If you grind and break the game, well, maybe you should not have done that. Unless that's what you find fun, why would you do it?

Conquest ending couldve been better if Xander had kept Hoshido

I finally finished playing FE 1 myself, and I cannot stress enough how maddening that inventory system was 😭

Going on a tangent about gay relationships being in a game and needing to be included is pretty cringe. There are plenty of other things to mention that are more impactful to the actual gameplay. The skill system and ability to class change to what ever class you want is ridiculous. This started the downfall of the series imo where people were jumping around to different classes just to get a skill that ended up breaking the game.

Wish i played these when they came out. I want to play all 3 games but no idea how to get all 3 these days
