For all her music about bad behavior from men it's ironic that she cheated on her husband with Neil. Maybe should write a song about her bad behavior.

When I was a kid, my Family went to see a Phillies Game at Vets Stadium. I didn't realize you'd be singing there, that night. All I know is, when you sang, "We Live for Love", it sounded so beautiful!! It really was a pleasant surprise, to hear your music at that Stadium; a happy childhood memory.

Believe it or not but here in the UK we got this song as a B' side and not the A' side....and very Blondie-esque because of their Producer Mike Chapman at the time even though he did not produce this particular song you would have thought he did and both artists were on the very same record label Chrysalis records.

A lot of people back then perceived that Hell Is For Children was not about abuse BUT it is where all children should go to ie Hell....but obviously a lot did not exactly listen to the lyrics of the song.

Thank you Neil and Pat for this awesome track , you brought a light to something that for the longest time was kept hush hush and always in the dark . This track means a lot to me because I suffered psychological abuse for about 6 months in my childhood before CPS stepped in , and my wife was constantly abused by her family as a child. You helped so many people like myself , my wife , and countless others with this awesome track. Thank you @BenatarGiraldo

A fantastic song! A great guitar solo with real heart and soul with that ascending note that goes into the subconscience Nirvana, and that one vocal part at the solo break is mind blowing you just have to say WOW! It just floors you.

I am almost 60 and the first time I heard this song and every time since then that I hear it reminds me of being 8 years old and the first time my SOB uncle *who is dead and i hope rotting in hell* molested me. It took me until I was 56 to tell anyone in my family. I never told my dad because I was afraid my dad would kill my uncle and my dad would end up in prison and that sob wasn’t worth my dad going to prison!!!

The world over for generations, children have suffered abuse in silence and many still do today. Contrast that to the suffering that children go through today that is in the open and yet mostly receives a blind eye.

That’s so true ! Music is like a Time Machine in the sense that it takes you back to moments in your life and you remember so clearly… Even my father who has dementia will remember music dates and times … It’s wild how music effects us …

My 11 year old daughter is going to be singing lead vocals on this for School of Rock at a local food hall. It is a great song with a powerful message. One doesn’t realize but music performance is a platform which entails responsibility and gives a voice to individuals and to issues. School of Rock gives the music performance platform to children which is so empowering, especially in sharing issues that directly affect children.

This song weighed very heavily on me as a kid. I cried a lot when I heard it. My brother had the album Crimes of passion and I used to play a lot in my bedroom. I was severely abused myself growing up by my mother. I don’t blame her so much because she was severely abused herself. Growing up out of the depression in Queens New York they had absolutely nothing. I’m pretty sure my mother was whipping post. When I was born, we lived in Brooklyn New York. My dad was in the Navy. Eventually, we moved to Newport Rhode Island for a better life. My parents got divorced when my father left the Navy and my mother didn’t want to go back to Brooklyn so we stayed in Newport but we had to move into a project. That’s when I started being abused, pretty much all the time. When I look back at those days, there were some of the hardest of my life. This song reminds me of how strong I was as a child, and how far comes since. It’s just one of the many reasons why I loved you guys so much. Thanks again! And sorry if you see edited in any of my binge posting of you guys because I’m just seeing all of this awesome content. I’m voice texting on my phone.

Lmao! Shawn Sawyer, the guy before me just explained what happened to me today, lmao! I’m 53 and from Bay Ridge Brooklyn myself. I have pneumonia right now so all I’m doing is a whole bunch of nothing. I woke up with this song in my head today as well ironically. When I went to put it on KZbin and I saw a video of the life and tragic death of Pat Benatar and I got so efin sad because I’ve been listening to you guys since the beginning, love the group tremendously and still listen to you all of the time. I went straight to the internet and found out the asshole was click bating. The only comment he got was me calling him a liar and a fuckin asshole. I was so sad I got choked up. Anyway I’m so relieved and I want to say thank you all for all of your hard work, your ups and downs, for putting your lives on paper. It’s songs like this specifically that helped me through my own life’s problems. You all mean so much to me and I love you two like family I haven’t seen but need to. Wish you were hitting the east Coast. I’d have front row seats ❤️👇🏽🤟🏽

Many songs are revolving doors in that they are experienced in different time periods throughout life. Love, pain, scares that never let the ugly in the world kill the beauty inside, so they try again the revolving door in hope of getting off on the right side of true belongings that come together as one to be complete. Much love, L. Sulkes
