In 1982 I was a freshman in HS. These early MTV videos meant EVERYTHING to us kids. The next day at school we’d talk about “see those camouflage drums in the Pat Benetar video yesterday?” or “see the live Rush video of Tom Sawyer?” Stuff of that nature. It was a wonderful time to grow up.

This is called "soul" folks. This can't be taught. Auto-tune cannot emulate this. This artist was in another dimension when she recorded these vocals. This is a true female artist and deserves praise as long as the Earth rotates around the Sun. Top tier and nothing can come close to Pat's vocals.

Believe it or not... I was in church (Catholic church) in Springfield, Mass about 25 years ago... and when it came time to shake hands with the people (part of the mass) I turned around to shake people's hands... and lo and behold... Pat Benatar was standing right there behind me. I shook her hand and she said, "Peace be with you" with a smile on her face. What an unexpected thrill for me. NOTE: She had performed a concert the night before in Springfield. I remember hearing that it was solely jazz music that she sung / played. (None of her rock songs). Nice Fred Lynn icon you got there! (Go Sox!!)

I was actually in that audience for the shoot and it was so fun! Must have been '81 or '82 at Paramount studios. She and Neil talked to us casually about all sorts of stuff and the band did a handful of songs. It was such a fun day that I'll always remember. T the super 70s is number one bia little the 60s would have made it even tighter if not for the Vietnam War. The the 90s came in next and may have moved up more if they hadn't killed themselves off so quickly, the 80 was too much of a rip off of the SUPER 70S I blame video games The 80 kids didn't put in the, blood, sweat and tears needed to become legendary but at least they had fun.
